I use this format for verses in my PBB's [[21.4 >> rev 21.4]] which as it should references my prioritized English bible.

What I would like to do is instead of showing in popup or click English just show the Greek or Hebrew, how would I do this?

Hi Whyndell:

While it seemed to me there's a better or more elegant way for this (but I couldn't find it), what works for sure is creating a link from the panel menu; either use the URL or the L4, as both provide a popup and link.

logosres:na28;ref=BibleNA27.Re21.4

As you probably know, type your surface text ("21.4"), highlight it and from the Word Insert tab, click Hyperlink ("Link") in the latest iteration of WD2016), and paste your Logos link.

I'm almost sure I have seen a datalink format using different translations for the link and popup, I can't make it work. Maybe that's just for different verse maps and won't change the popup from your preferred bible.

Do you think you'll be using this a lot? If so, I'll be happy to write you a Word macro that helps you do this faster. It would be tomorrow evening (US-EST). Let me know.

I'll try your suggestion.

Yes I use this format a lot- the reason being a lot of the PBB conversions reference the Grk in context its just nice to see it in popup rather than open up a Grk bible all the time.

I have tired making macro's but just never got the hang of it.

Without changing your PB temporarily make a Greek/Hebrew bible your preferred bible.

Otherwise use L4 link address in your PB  e.g.  [[21.4 >> logosres:sblgnt;ref=BibleSBLGNT.Re21.4]]  (without having to use Word's "Link"/"Hyperlink" menu).

Robert I mistyped "I have tired making macro's but just never got the hang of it." Tired should be TRIED!

So yes if you can supply a micro with basic instructions I will be happy to use it.

Whyndell:

Here's the macro I wrote to make a PB link for non-preferred bibles. And it might also be useful even with the preferred bible, since it makes it easy to mark incomplete references (e.g., "3:16").

It's a lot of hoops to set up, but I think you might find it worth it. I tried to make it as transparent to use as I could, so that it would be a natural part of workflow. Basically, you select the text and press the shortcut keys. Enter the bible. If the selecon is just Ch-Vs, enter a book and press Enter. Optionally, you can enter a Verse Map version, but that's only needed if you think the passage is part of a non-default verse map or bible datatype. If you select text with a book name, the macro can generally detect it and it will omit the book name entry. If you select non-reference text, such as "so that no one may boast", just enter a book, replace that text with the Ch-Vs, and press Enter. (You can also put all of the BCV in the (B)CV box and leave the book box blank.)

A workflow benefit I built in is that it remembers the last bible version, book name and verse map you used (stored as custom properties in the document). So, if you're doing a lot of work in the same bible and book, things should go very quickly. If you select just a verse, you'll have to edit the (B)CV box with the chapter. Here's what the dialog looks like:

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the help was greatly needed finished a resource (SSA Revelation) this morning 131,000 words, 234 pages, every page needed verses, Greek, lexicon references, over 30 L7 resources tagged, not to mention another 15 resources from other PBB's.

This was probably my most intense PBB but it will yield a ton of data for study in L7 Big Smile
