PetahChristian:

I think the original selling point for me was early access to features. Yet there's no early access L8 feature I regularly use (or would miss).

The icing on the cake was discounts, and it was well worth getting LN just for the savings. LN certainly paid for itself many times over.

If there's no killer early access feature to keep me hooked, I might subscribe for the savings, then let it lapse until it's time to save again.

This is exactly how I feel. However, I purchased several years of subscription when LN was at a discount. So I cannot drop out at the moment. Still, I saved a lot due to the LN discount for base packages.

Spot on Mattilo. While I agree with a lot , but not all, of what others have said are areas where Logos Now’s Halo has slipped, the reasons you point out are why I still consider I am getting value from the program.

Mattillo:

I disagree.  Yes the L8 feature updates have been slow and disappointing but for me where I get my money is through the discounts and free FLTV access.  If I remember correctly, FLTV was $5/month ($60/year).  I was paying for that anyway so for me the extra cost of $39 I got some discounts, a coupon code every now and then, and discounts on exclusive resources.  If you don't buy anything probably not worth it but if you like FLTV then I think it is great.  With that said I do wish the discounts, exclusive sales, and free book were a smidge better.

Yeah I have a couple of months to decide...I guess it’s hard to tell with academic discount

Is the free access to FLTV a permanent part of LN? I thought this was only a temporary thing.

In reality everything in Logos Now is temporary. It’s a membership program that can and has evolved. You are correct it is listed as temporary. That way it gives FL an out if they need to stop offering it for whatever reason. If it was stopped being offered then it might change my view but it might not because other things might have been put in its place that I feel are of value to me.

The other point to consider is this is a year in which based on what FL has said in past we may well see Logos 8. If you are intending to purchase any new base package(s) of resources you will potentially recoup your Logos Now subscription.

A friend is trying to sign up for Now and can’t find a way.

Literally impossible from Logos website at the moment.

Seems like they might be dropping it?

I don’t know if it was required but I called them. I already had my card and stuff in my account so everything was easy as pie. My LN subscription was active before I got off the phone.

Is this true? I wonder what that means for people who were already subscribed for more than one year or those who are still in the middle of their membership?

Wow, you're right. http://logos.com/now brings you to Faithlife Connect which appears to be Logos Cloud rebranding (since its pricing tiers let you determine how many resources you rent a month).

You can't get to the Logos Now product page on the store, since it now redirects to Faithlife Connect.

Also the Logos Now product isn't appearing in the right (this title is included in) sidebar anymore.

I'm stymied.

I can't imagine how this could be possible. Many of us still prefer to rent features but own books. We already may have large libraries, and would have no need to sign up for Logos Cloud.

We have an exciting announcement coming very soon—we're still getting a few things finalized. Stay tuned for details.

You have a legal contract which Faithlife must honor but may choose to not renew.

Just today, I was telling my wife how awesome this subscription is. The language tools alone are worth the price. The Sermon Editor allows me to automatically make my slides (though I wish you could edit the background within the Editor).

Several people are saying it's not valuable, but it has blown my expectations out of the water.

I don't know if I would call the announcement exciting; I have some adjectives in mind but exciting is not one of them ...

I have also recently told my wife how much I enjoyed Logos now. However, as we cannot afford to spend 2.4 times the previous price to keep it going, I will be letting the subscription lapse.
