Introducing Faithlife Connect
Today we’re launching Faithlife Connect, a new subscription including Logos Cloud, Faithlife TV, Mobile Ed courses, and much more. Plans start at $8.99/month and come with a 14-day free trial.
All seven levels of Faithlife Connect include:
-
Logos Cloud: Study the Word with Logos books and features. Each Connect level is consistent with the current levels of Logos Cloud.
-
Faithlife TV Plus: Watch all that Faithlife TV Plus has to offer. (Premium channels and movies are extra.)
-
Faithlife Courses: Access up to eight Mobile Ed courses of your choosing every year. (Depends on subscription level).
-
Featured Book: Get month-long access to one resource selected by Faithlife every month. Receive a discount code to purchase that resource when the month is over.
-
Exclusive Discounts: Shop exclusive sales only available to Connect subscribers.
Some Faithlife Connect levels include access to:
-
Faithlife Ebooks: Redeem monthly codes for one Lexham/Kirkdale Press title and one classic Christian book to own.
-
2% Reward on purchases: Receive a promo code of 2% of purchases made in the previous year. Codes will be distributed in February 2019 for purchases in 2018. Restrictions will apply.
How Faithlife Connect affects Logos Now and Logos Cloud customers
Because this product includes many of the same features and benefits of both Logos Now and Logos Cloud, we’re migrating everyone who has a subscription to Logos Now and Logos Cloud to a subscription to Faithlife Connect. We’ll transition Logos Cloud and Logos Now customers into Faithlife Connect over the next day or so as we configure things on the back end. All active subscribers will retain their Logos Now/Cloud benefits through their subscription period.
If you’re a Logos Cloud or Logos Now subscriber, we’ll be sending you an email soon about what to expect with the transition. Each customer’s situation is unique, and we’ll be sure to send you the details of what Faithlife Connect means for you specifically. We’re committed to answering any of your questions and helping you have a great experience. Reach us in the Faithlife Connect group, by emailing customerservice@faithlife.com, or calling us at (888) 308-7621.

Under Pricing, Standard says 4 vid courses per year.

Logos Now gave us 10% off libraries and 25% off feature set purchases. Have those benefits disappeared?
It sounds like we are losing our LN benefits, unless we're willing to pay twice as much each year ($119 -> $240). How is that even expected to be cost-effective, when most of us don't want to rent books, or subscribe to Faithlife TV?
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

There are arrows at the top of the pricing page. Click a couple times to the right and you'll see the levels that have 8 courses per year in them.

Do the 3 levels of payment have differing Discounts, Chris?

I agree. Logos Now was a way better option. Why do the two have to be combined?

You will get an email that addresses your specific situation, which may be different than someone else's situation. Please be patient as we get those sent out to the appropriate customers. Thanks!

I agree with Keith. I don't want cloud... Never had and never will. But to keep the other things I have I'll have to move to the second tier for $20. I'm guessing that is what will pay for the 2%

How do the free books work Chris? With LN we got one a month. Now it seems at the $20 level you would get two. In the weird middle stage between the two, do we still get our one or do we get two?
Will there be an option for those who want to upgrade to jump out of LN and use the difference or will they have to wait?

It does seem like Faithlife are charging twice as much for stuff we already have at half the price. It looks like I am going to give it a go for the trial but it looks very much like faithlife are losing my subscription. I hope they can retain half of their existing membership so they can at least break even!

No.
No, as in a) you'll keep those discounts until your LN expires, or b) those discounts will continue in Faithlife Connect? If so, what tiers, please, offer those savings?
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

You will continue to receive this benefit for the duration of your Logos Now subscription.

If I understand correctly, you simply would want to go to the Connect Essentials level. Correct? If so, then yes, you could call into Customer Service and they can help you with that. However, I would encourage you to wait until you receive your email to make that decision.

Chris, Do we own the courses with this product or do we end up losing them from our library ?

That comparison page isn't too useful for me, as it doesn't identify online-only features. Some of us own the full or extended feature set, and can't easily identify exactly which subscriber features we'd lose when we cancel LN.
Off the top of my head, lemma in passage, and concordance tool are subscriber-only. What else only comes with LN but not with any feature sets?

And Chris, do we get something like dynamic pricing of this product. I will end up being kindly given access to 144 books, most of which i have already paid for so unless this is taken into account you will be charging me twice for the same book ?

I suggest you hurry with those emails.
Do you have any idea how bad this looks at the moment?

Dave, the courses will be access, not ownership. You'll have one year from the issuance of code(s) to select a course, and then 6 months of access to that course once you select it.

Under the FAQ:
[quote]
Will my access to Logos features change?
Yes. You will maintain access to the features included in Logos Now through November 12, 2018 or your renewal date, whichever is later. Throughout that time you will experience no change in your available features.
If you’d like to continue to access all Logos features after November 12, you can upgrade to Faithlife Connect Essentials ($19.99/mo) or above by calling call at (888) 308-7621 or emailing customerservice@faithlife.com.
View all Faithlife Connect plans.
Compare features in Logos Now and Faithlife Connect. Will my price go up because of these changes?
No. We’ve migrated all customers to a Faithlife Connect plan that will not cause their monthly rate to go up. However, Logos Now members who wish to stay current with all Logos features will need to upgrade to Faithlife Connect Essentials or above. To upgrade, call us at (888) 308-7621 or email customerservice@faithlife.com to upgrade.
This is an utter betrayal.

Sheesh! This is a tough crowd. I appreciate it, so THANK YOU!!! My subscription will be cheaper than it already was. I don't care about the free books or the discounts (unless we got HALOT or something like that). I just like the main feature set, especially the language tools.
THANK YOU!!!

Um, please disregard my recent post. Good thing I still have another 11 months on my LN. $20/month is too much for me. I'm hoping my forthcoming email says something different than the price increase.

No, this is the natural progression of a subscription-based service. Remember how cable tv started out?

Hmm? How do you figure that?
To keep the main (full) feature set, you'd have to upgrade to a higher tier, which will be more expensive than it already is.
- LN (includes Full Feature Set) $99/yr
- Faithlife Connect Essentials (includes Full Feature Set) $240/yr

Unfortunately this is how I am feeling. I hope that faithlife get their act together quickly and with luck the e-mails will clarify that we are not being used as a way of increasing profit. If this wasn't an organisation run on christian principles I would just assume the marketing team have come up with a way of manufacturing a need and then exploiting the need to increase revenue at the expense of their customer base. I am of course reserving any thoughts about faithlife, them being based on christian principles and us being christian and all ..

I don't feel betrayed. FL doesn't owe me anything.
It's within their right to change the benefits of the subscription whenever they want. (They added benefits in our favor -- we got a free book each month, temporary FL TV subscription, a $50 coupon, and so on, so let's not forget how they've rewarded us to compensate for any decrease in the LN value.)
Having said that, I do see it this new offering as a money grab. I do think the price increase makes it very difficult for me to remain loyal to or supportive of this subscription offering.
I have no problems with the company or the software. I hope they continue to do well, since we've all made large investments in the Logos ecosystem.
In all seriousness, I think they've done me (and my wallet) a favor. I can probably manage without an LN subscription, or buying L8 libraries or feature sets.

Well this is a disappointment, another subscription plan with even higher costs. Don't get too excited about this one, in 3 years it will be replaced. Frequent flier miles then? Why so complicated? SEVEN LEVELS? How many posts have their been trying to understand the value of Logos Now, and this is quite a bit more complicated! Do we need a new forum for those questions?
Faithlife must think we have nothing better to do than try and figure out all their marketing plans. This is not good news as far as I am concerned. I guess spending over six figures on Logos/Faithlife products over the years isn't enough of an investment.
Can anyone point to posts that highlight these features as being something requested by USERS? I was thinking about Faithlife when I saw Apple was going to put a real focus on bug fixing and performance improvement in their next iteration of their operating systems - I wished Faithlife would do the same. I am still amazed at some of the clunkiness in usability of the software, they just don't have time do deal with it because it doesn't make them enough money. I think about the bugs that have been reported here for YEARS, the voters choice things that get ignored, it doesn't matter - what matters is what Faithlife wants. IMHO the is an example of "We need to charge more per month - so what can we load into a subscription that sounds substantial?"
Once Faithlife makes getting all the features only accessible through a high monthly cost, I suspect I am done for good. It's just not that positive a relationship anymore when everything you ask for gets ignored, and this punch in the gut comes along. Their customer relationship had caused my buying to drop 90%, and believe me, it would not have if I felt they treated me like a customer who has bought a lot of their product. Oh yeah, including that great deal on the EEC commentary set, which has been delayed what, TEN YEARS from the original commitment dates? I hope my (and other peoples') investments in that deal have kept the company going. I wish I would have at least gotten a $3 credit to a future purchase for my trouble. I fully expect now not to be alive when the set is completed, if ever. How is that a good deal for customers, and why does it continue that way?
I am very discouraged, even more disillusioned, and even more distrustful that even if this works itself out over time to be a decent program, a new one will come along that's more complicated and more costly. It's just another money grab from a company that does not see customers as their primary focus. But I will stop complaining - I just cancelled everything I had on order. Nice job Faithlife.

No one at FL sees a problem with charging us a rental fee for books we already own?
Please reconsider offering LN separately from Faithlife Connect. We really don't care to pay extra to rent books, courses, and TV. Thanks!
