I tried to download the PC version for my Mac and couldn't get it to load. What do I need to do to run the PC version of Logos 4 on my Mac?
For either of these solutions you need a valid Windows XP/Vista/7 cd.
1) Install Windows on a boot camp partition. Installs Windows on another partition and allows you to boot your mac up as if it were a Windows machine. Advantages: No performance penalty. Disadvantage: No OS X features or software present
2) Install Windows in a Virtual Machine using a VM program like Paralells, VMWare Fusion or VirtualBox (free from www.virtualbox.org) Advantages: Access to OS X apps and features. Disadvantages: Performance penalty and battery life drains twice as fast.
Hi Timothy,
I'm using L4 on my Mac using Parallels and XP. Kind of a resource hog that way, but the program works much better than L4 Mac. I did this a couple of months ago, and felt like it was worth the investment. As soon as L4 Mac gets to a stable beta I'll probably dump Parallels, but I like having a stable version of L$ to work with now.
Timothy,
I installed a copy of VirtualBox with XP. Functional, but sluggish. As Michael said, it is a memory hog and does drain the battery. It does work. I needed it for some presentations. I still use the L4 Mac 98% of the time.
I tried it under VMWare Fusion and it was significantly faster for me than the Mac app. YMMV.
Dr. Seal,
Here is a link to a conversation about running logos with fusion. http://community.logos.com/forums/p/3700/38888.aspx#38888
Of course it means buying another program and possibly another license for windows if you don't already have one.
