Marking a passages on a passage list with a special color

Guys,
I know this is easy to do.... but, I seem to mess it up every time.
I have created a passage list. I now want to create a visual filter to mark the verses in that passage list with a special color or something like that ....so those verses are identified when I review entire chapters and books.
I know how to limit my display to just the passage list; but, I do not want to hide other verses... just highlight the ones in the passage list.
Silly question and should be simple; but, I have had no luck so far.
Thanks to anybody who can help!

I'm not sure it is easy - in fact, I can't think of any way of doing it properly.
You can set a Visual Filter to act on a Passage List. So you could set the Visual Filter to search the verses in the Passage List and highlight any results found.
But you need to search for something - and I don't know what search string to suggest.
Hopefully someone else will come up with a more useful idea!

Thank You Graham....
I just assumed it was easy! Thanks for trying. I do hope it is possible as it seems logical.... pick a group of passages and make it show up when you look at the passages in context, surrounded by the other relevant verses.

You can make a visual filter with a search like
{Milestone <Matthew 1:23>} OR {Milestone <Matthew 2:6>} OR ......
A visual filter like that is rather slow and obviously quite a bit of work to set up, if you have many references. I have done it before by exporting a passage list, then using some Search&Replace functions in Word and/or Excel to add the rest of the search, then copying the result back into the Logos visual filter.
But I agree - this should be considered as a built-in function.

I don't know if there's an existing forum thread about it, but we've previously discussed being able to combine {Milestone} and {PassageList} searches, which would let you do what you want to do here, i.e., search for references in a Passage List as Milestones, not as regular references.
Right now it isn't possible, but I've added a link to this thread to the case so we can post an update if it's implemented in the future.

Idea is seeing if verses in Passage List share Section tagging. For example, Sermon on the Mount is included in Section for Preaching Theme on Joy
{Section <PreachingTheme = Joy>}
Matthew 5:4 is also included in Section for Cultural Concept of Blessing
Section searches can be used for Visual Filters.

Dear Smiling and everybody else....
I think you might be on the right track.
What I have put together is a list of references where there is a "divine council" moment BROADLY DEFINED), often where God is talking to or working with members of His council. The reason I wanted to do this is I decided to read the entire Bible through with Divine Council issues in mind. Since I missed them for the first 60 years of my walk with God, I decided this made sense.
Guys, do you have any idea how I might craft a search which got the same (similar) result so I could bring those parts of the Bible to my conscious brain while I read?????
And specific ideas you might suggest.... I sure will try.
thanks in advance.....

There's a roundabout way of doing what you want. It looks more complex than it is, as I'm giving you every tiny step. It's only about 2 minutes work.
- In the Passage List, click on Print/Export (on the panel menu, found when you click the Passage List icon in the Passage List panel).
- Make sure Print as shown on screen is selected.
- Click Copy to Clipboard
- Paste the result into Word.
- Place the cursor in the first column, then select the Table Tools Layout tab in the ribbon.
- In the ribbon, click on the Select icon, and choose Column.
- Copy the selected column to the clipboard.
- Create a new Word Document.
- Paste the clipboard into the new document, as text. To do this:
- Select the Home tab in the ribbon.
- Click on the little arrow under Paste.
- Choose the icon labelled Keep Text Only (probably the one on the right)
- In the ribbon, click Replace.
- In Find what, type ^p^p
- In Replace with:, type >}, {Milestone <
- Click Replace All
- You should now see a document that looks something like this:
- Delete the >}, at the beginning, and the , {Milestone < at the end.
- Now copy the entire string, and paste it into a Visual Filter.
That's it! (Unfortunately, if you change your passage list in the future, you'll need to repeat the process.)

Two Section Search ideas are:
{Section <PreachingTheme = God: Sovereignty>}
Lexham Bible Dictionary has Divine Council article.
