Is there anyone who knows Hebrew well who would be willing to help a friend of mine work through Exodus 31:1-11 to see if the "theology of art" that he came up with from reading it is on target? He said he doesn't trust himself enough in regards to Hebrew and would like to step through it with a real "Hebrew scholar" -- I don't consider myself one at all. I studied it for one year in seminary ten years ago and have forgotten most of it.

So far his only resource has been online Hebrew lexicons (primary the BLB). He used to use Logos years ago and enjoyed it, but only used it to search for Hebrew and Greek words and the Strong's concordance. Lately he has found online Bibles and lexicons to be just as good, and easier to access and search. But I'm trying to convince him to give Logos 4 a try. I've sent him all the commentary excerpts for Exodus 31:1-11 in my library, including Philip Graham Ryken's one in the "Preaching the Word" series which has some long expositions on the implications of Ex 31:1-11 for the arts.

I'm not a "Hebrew  scholar", nor have I studied the passage before, but I'm nonetheless interested in what "theology of art" your friend is coming up with.  Smile  Since theological discussions are OT here, could you email me at amy, the domain name being hkstar, dot, com.
