Koine Greek Spelling Tool

Is there, in Logos (similar to their keyboard software, which I find most helpful), a Biblical Greek Spelling dictionary including the diacritic, accent and breathing marks, that I can use in MS Word? I am dyslexic and I am desperate to see if there is some or other method I can use when typing (as in English) to auto correct as I go along.

If Logos do not have a solution is there maybe another solution that someone could recommend.

I just did a quick Google search for Biblical Greek spell checkers, and it appears Open Office does have spell checking for ancient Greek, and they are apparently the only ones who do. I'm not sure if "ancient Greek" is the same as Biblical/koine Greek, but it's surely closer than modern Greek which is all Word offers.

You can also make custom spelling dictionaries in Word. The .dic files are just plain text files. You'd have to find a wordlist somewhere (copy/paste from the index at the end of Building Your New Testament Greek Vocabulary, for example), save it as a plain text file with Unicode encoding (UTF-8). Then in Word go into your options and add a new custom dictionary (in Word 2007 it's under Word Options > Proofing > Custom Dictionaries > New), call it greek.dic. Then close Word and open the folder where Word stores all its dictionaries (on Vista it's in your username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\UProof; not sure about other versions of Windows), delete greek.dic, copy the wordlist file you created above over to this folder and rename it greek.dic. Then Word should pick up that wordlist when doing spell checks. Unfortunately it won't be able to tell you a suggested correction (that takes more internal smarts that would require a special NT Greek spelling dictionary, not just a wordlist), but at least it will show you the squiggly red underline if you mistype something.

I tried the OO download but that did not work.

Thanks for the other advice I will play with it and see what I can get right. Tried so far but obviously not doing everything correctly, made the word list as you suggested and made the dic file. I have come the conclusion that if you continue long enough with a software problem the computer get tired and lets you win.

You're actually engaged in what is known as "yak shaving." You're trying to solve a particular problem on the computer, but in order to that you discover you have to solve some other problem, and on the way to solving that, you realize something else you also needed to do... Before you know it, you've spent the entire day shaving the yak. The phrase comes from geek lore. It can apply more generally in life, but working with computers particularly tends to bring on major bouts of yak shaving. Sharpen your razor and keep going, and you'll come up with something that works for you.
