Logos 8 - Highlighting/Note issues?
Dear Sir,
I notice an issue after the Logos 8 update.
Whenever I highlight a text, sometimes the highlight doesn't appear immediately. I have to close the application, and re-open Logos to see the highlight.
I also notice that when adding a "note" (right click, then add note), the same issue occur. The "note" doesn't appear immediately. I have to close the application, and re-open it to see the note (then there will be a little icon to indicate that the note has been added).
Anyone else experiencing similar issues?
Any help from FL would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This sounds like it's just very slow working - what are the machine specs? Was indexing running in the background? A copy of the Logos.log file and possible other log files would help (we saw such things in the beta, but as per my own experience this had been fixed prior to release) - obtain by starting logos with CTRL pushed down, recreate the issue, and close Logos, then zip the log file folder under Documents and upload here.

I have the same issue when I have a lot of things open. And strangely only with ESV that I can see so far. If I highlight something in ESV it doesn't appear however long I leave the program. I have a fast computer, that is definitely not the issue. I can walk away for several minutes it still doesn't appear. I can make it appear by clicking elsewhere then clicking back on the area highlighted. Or by closing the program and reopening which is a lot more tedious. I notice it doesn't happen on simple layouts. Because I can click elsewhere and click back on the highlighted section to make it appear it doesn't bother me too much at the moment but a fix would be good. It never happened to me in Logos 7. And overall my positive experience with Logos 8 so far strongly outweighs any minor issues I am having.

Just a thought... have you tried recreating your layout (where there's a problem) from scratch. I don't know how complex your layout is, but it may be worth a try since layouts can sometimes become corrupted.

Thanks Reuben, I tried that and it seems at some stage of complexity it started doing it again. As in initially it was highlighting ok then later the same problem occurred on the new layout. Didn't quite pay attention to when though, might try it again at each step when I get the chance.

I have the same issue, but I also lost the use of keyboard shortcuts in notes (Ctrl+., Ctrl+/, Ctrl+M, Ctrl+Shift+M), I also have lost several notes which were taken over the last week. They are just gone, they were placed in a notebook and had anchors & tags, but they are gone.
Logos told me to try to reinstall 8 and let it index. No luck.

I believe this is a known issue that is being worked on but I can't find where it is discussed at the moment.

Are you able to record a screencast demonstrating the problem? That may be helpful for them to ensure they understand exactly the problem you're reporting.

I have a problem with duplicate note file icons and notes appearing in my bibles. I cannot delete them fast enough. This is ruining my experience with the software. Help!!

If you are seeing "Add a note" on the left of the context menu - which from your description you are - then you are using the new Notes Tool
So if you are able to record / provide a screencast that would be helpful

If I've understood the video correctly, you're saying that the highlighting isn't showing up, even though you've highlighted it three times, and there's no note indicator. The most likely cause of this is that the visual filter for that palette isn't turned on. Can you check that?

This problem does not immediately appear when I start Logos 8. Usually after about 10 minutes of usage, the same cycle of issue begins.
Mark, you have described the problem accurately. The "missing highlights" will appear if I close the application and reopen it. The palette is OK.

Sorry for the trouble, Vincent. We're working on an issue that can cause this when you have multiple copies of the same resource open. Does the problem go away if you close other tabs showing the same resource you're trying to highlight? We're working on this now and hope to have it resolved soon.

That's not the problem. Mine is turned on and new notes do not show up unless the program is restarted.

What exactly are you referring to?
If you have a different problem, you'll be better off starting a new thread. If you're replying to something specific in a thread, you can quote that (like I've done for just now), by using the "Reply" button rather than the "quick reply". You can then select a portion of text or choose to quote the entire post if that makes sense.

If you click the "Replied:" hyperlink (the on next to the time of the post), it will take you to the post that Houseonarock was referring to (unless it's at the very bottom of the page). But I agree, it's much clearer if the text is quoted.
