I upgraded to Logos 8 recently which is supposed to include the full Reverse Interlinear for the Revised Standard Version (not to be confused with the RSVCE or RSV2CE).

I noticed that the Reverse Interlinear info is missing for the following books: Susanna, Bel and the Dragon, Song of the Three Young Men, and 2 Esdras.

There is no indication on the product page or description that this resource is incomplete. Shouldn't there be RI info for these books? I don't have this problem with the RI for the RSVCE or the RSV2CE. Is this RI just not finished yet or are there no plans to complete the RI for the RSV? I've already re-indexed the RSV and the info is still not there.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I don't own RSV2CE so I can make no observation regarding this resource, but I do own both the RSVCE and the RSV and it appears as you have indicated that the RSV is incomplete in just the books you have reported. Perhaps someone from FL can shed some light on this.

Meanwhile, Jesus kept on growing wiser and more mature, and in favor with God and his fellow man.

You should have these Deuterocanonical RI's with any L8 package/feature set. Although I note it isn't the case with 2 Esdras (only) in my NRSV Protestant Edition. We need input from Faithlife.

Kiyah:

2 Esdras has never had a reverse interlinear because Latin is the original language it was translated from, and we have yet to do a reverse interlinear to the Latin text.

As for the "Additions to Daniel" that you mention (Susanna, Bel and the Dragon, Song of the Three Young Men), you should be seeing reverse interlinear lines for those if you can see them for the other deutero-canonical books (e.g. the Maccabees, 1 Esdras, Baruch and Letter of Jeremiah, Wisdom, Sirach, etc.).

When you get a chance, could you please send a screenshot showing that they don't work (perhaps even a video if possible), plus the version number (Support Info) from the Information page: click the three vertical dots in the upper right hand of the resource panel, then select "Information": the Support Info is at the very bottom of that page.

Hope we can get this resolved quickly.

Isaiah.

Not sure how to do a video but here are some screen shots.

1. Here's a shot that shows the RSV RI works for the Book of Sirach:

2. Here are shots comparing the RSV (right) with the NRSV (left) to show that the RSV RI is not working for Song of the Three, Susanna, and Bel and the Dragon. I have the panels linked so they jump to the same verse together. I tried to click on individual words in the RSV to force the interlinear info to show but it doesn't, although it did with Sirach above:

3. Weirdly, the RSV has RI information for Song of the Three Young Men for verses 45-46 only but for no other verses in that book:

4. Here is a shot of the RSV Support Info section:

Hopefully this helps you get the issue resolved.

Out of curiosity I ran the concordance tool by lemma for the RSV (right) and filtered for each of the three books in comparison with the concordance tool for the NRSV (left) and it shows data similar to the NRSV. So the data is there but just not displaying in the RSV bible itself? See screenshots below for Song of the Three, Susanna, and Bel and the Dragon.

2 Esdras is A mess but the core based on 4 Ezra theoreticallay could be tied to the Greek there. Alternatively tying it to the Latin again could be done. Not high on my wish list just ideas.

Kiyah:

The version info for the resources is correct, and they're all there.

Can you toggle the different lines of the reverse interlinear by clicking on the Aleph-Omega button? That would more explicitly show if the data for certain sections are missing.

The inline reverse interlinear does show, but when I right click on words the lemma info doesn't appear in the context menu. When I toggle the inline RI off the morphological info doesn't appear at the bottom of the screen. I made sure that the RI ribbon was turned off too, and I still don't see the RI morph info popping up either at the bottom of the page or in the right-click context menu.

So it's like the info is there but I can't interact with it. And it's just for these three books, the other books of the RSV seem to be working fine.

FWIW, this problem is not new to Logos 8; I can reproduce it in Logos 7. (I'm not yet sure what's causing it, though.)

Wow. Well I guess I wouldn't have caught it since I didn't have the full RSV reverse interlinear until I upgraded to Logos 8. All of my other Reverse Interlinears work at least. And I usually use the RSVCE instead of the RSV because it has the footnotes and has had the full Reverse Interlinear for a while.

Hopefully the cause makes itself known. It's good to know it's not just user error. Smile

Any update on what's causing this? Is this on the issue list?
