Still a Bug in Beta 1: Home Page Update
On the Mac it is common to leave apps up, they don't have to be shut down like in Windows - so my Verbum/Mac is restarted only when an update comes down). Unlike Logos 7, Logos 8 does not refresh its Home Page daily, so today I work in Verbum/Mac with a Home page showing Devotionals from yesterday. Please fix this so I don't have to manually refresh every day, thank you.
I posted this here because (1) it still occurs in the beta and (2) the original post of this bug was never replied to by a FL employee, so I don't know if they even saw it.

Actually Don - I found this a problem with Logos 7 as well - however refreshing the Home Page update the prayer list and reading plan. With Logos 8 I have to quit and restart the program.
The former was bearable the latter is a pain.

I've filed a case requesting that the Home Page refresh automatically when the app is running overnight.

Yeah, it isn't a bug, this is designed this way. See the newly released document. https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019175372-Changes-from-Logos-7-to-Logos-8

Just because it's on that list doesn't mean that it isn't going to be changed. There are a lot of things on that list that are already scheduled to be changed.

Yes I understand. For clarification, I was trying to say that it isn't a bug. In other words, it's not that the program is not working as intended, it is working as designed and therefore doesn't need to be reported as a bug with each update.

In my personal opinion, it is a bug. [:D] Probably a bug of omission.
That said, either way I agree, there's no need to re-report it. That won't make it get fixed any faster.

That's an old misconception. I usually keep two Logos sessions active (on the one machine) until they have to be restarted - 3 days or more. I can easily switch between Logos 7 and Logos 8 for different user queries.

How is this supposed to work specifically? I am on 8.1 RC1 8.1.0013, on Mac. I updated yesterday and ran it, left it open all night. It is full screen in its own window. Today when I swiped over to view that window, and I even tapped on it, nothing happens - everything still says December 4 and today is December 5. Am I doing something wrong?

Really? That's exactly the way it worked before? I am confused then - what was the change?

Argh - not for me it wasn't. Up until this last change I needed a complete restart of the program to update the reading plan and prayers. F5 refreshed the page but did not change the status.

I give up - that's not what I reported and it's not what the FL folks on this thread appeared to respond to.

My humble apology Don. I failed to read your original post as meaning that 'Manually' involved refreshing the home page with F5 or something similar but did read into it a similar problem that I was having.
As you, no doubt, have gathered for me the F5 refresh wasn't working and I (wrongly) assumed that this was also a factor in your report.
Having the F5 refresh working is an improvement for me.
Once again sorry for the confusion.

You can leave the application running over night and the content should refresh the next time you open the home page.
It sounds like you are leaving the home page itself open though. We do not refresh the content while the home page is open because the user might be interacting with or reading the home page content.
Let me know if that isn't your experience or still doesn't suit your needs.

Why can't there be a manual refresh button?

F5 and the "Refresh" item in the Homepage settings menu should both still work.

No worries Mike Binks, I was just frustrated by the feature not your suggestions!
Alan - thanks for the reply. You are correct, I leave Verbum/Mac open to the Home Page at the end of the day/evening when I am done. So I come the next day and see it has not refreshed, and all the devotionals etc. are on the prior day when I swipe over to it on my Mac (I keep it maximized).
I must be wrong as no one else sees it, I could have sworn in times past that after a new day transpires, and focus is given to the Verbum window for the first time that day, it refreshes the screen if it has not already been auto-refreshed that day. I am positive that for a long time I never had to refresh the screen daily, as I do now. In any case, this would be ideal - if you think about it, there is very little/no chance anyone is reading anything if you sense for a new day/past midnight, AND focus is set on the window for the first time that day - then refresh. Thanks.

No you are not wrong that is how it worked before. However, I actually agree now that Alan has explained Faithlife's reasoning. There WERE times in the past when I was up late looking down the Home Screen Feeds right at midnight then it refreshed and what I was looking at was no longer there and that WAS frustrating.
