0184.Logos Log Files.zip

I have not gotten far in my sermon guide, but I cannot continue with it.  The link is right there on my home page, or I can access from the guide the option to pick up where I left off.  Either way, a window opens up called "Expository Sermon Preparation," listing the passage, but everything else is blank, except for the word "Workflow".

This concerns me when considering placing future trust in logos to track my sermon preparation.  I'd hate to see this thing disappear closer to Sunday!0576.Logos Log Files.zip

Hi Kevin,

Can you please provide a screenshot of what you are seeing when you open the workflow? Also can you provide a screenshot of your Guides Menu so I can see a list of your started workflows?

Thank you,

Philana

The screenshot is as described:  Pretty blank, save for the text I wrote about.

That looks like what appears when you don't have a license for the feature. Do you have a Connect subscription? If so, has it recently expired?

Kevin,

I'm sorry you are having problems. If you don't mind can we get a copy of your workfows database, that way we can determine if something got messed up. Do you know how to locate your Logos Documents folder? If you go to your file explorer and type %localappdata% you'll navigate to a folder. Open the one marked Logos. Then to the folder marked Documents. You'll see a folder with some random letters and numbers. Go into that folder and find your workflows folder. Please zip that folder and email it to testing at faithlife dot com. Then post here when you've emailed it. I'll ask the workflows team to take a look at your database and see if they can find out what happened.

Thanks,

Philana

Kevin,

I didn't see Andrews reply before I posted. Please first check that your Faithlife Connect subscription is valid. If it has expired then your previously saved data should be fine and once you resubscribe or upgrade to Logos 8 (even just the features) you should be able to continue working with your workflow. If it has not expired then please follow my previous instructions.

Blessings,

Philana

I was not aware this was a subscription only feature of Logos.  The advertisement of features did not clearly state this, from what I noticed.

In general, I am not in favor of an expensive software like Logos containing several portions that can only be used if I pay even more on an ongoing basis.  The feel on my end is a bit like a bait and switch.

Apparently, my test drive of guides coincided with my connect trial.  Is there a list of what features are lost should I choose to stop sending money and stick with what I paid for?  More importantly, will I be able to hide those features so that my software doesn't get cluttered with bells and whistles I cannot use?

One other thought...I suggest some kind of notice that would appear when one attempts to access a feature that has been revoked.  I wouldn't have known the reason for this, but a simple statement that I had to pay to keep using the advertised feature of the software would have been helpful.

Hey Kevin, it isn't subscription only. You can buy it outright as part of the feature upgrade https://www.logos.com/product/165935/logos-8-full-feature-upgrade

To find out what features you are missing without that upgrade or a subscription you can go to that product and filter it to what is "New to You"

Thanks for the info.  Once I upgraded, it looked like I had all these features, so it's a bit of a surprise when they stop working.  Perhaps that's part of the confusion.

This sounds to me as if you may misunderstand the marketing. You may either buy the features or rent the features - there is no need to do both. Some of us, however, choose to do both so that we get new features earlier than if we waited for them to be available for purchase.
