First, it would be more beneficial when creating a new passage guide that it open up "blank" then allow items to be chosen. I never use two thirds of the prepopulated item and always have to delete them.

Second, when using a new passage when you select your passage for study have it open collapsed - not expanded- or at least a tick box so it can be collapsed.

When I select the option to create a new passage guide I get a blank sheet as below. Are you seeing something different? Or are you referring to something else?

Do you mean you want to have all the sections collapsed?

As you have probably noticed, the guide opens with sections open / closed depending on their state when the guide was last used. Are you aware you can "collapse all" by right-clicking on one of the section headings?

First- Yes when choose "new" it opens up blank- but when you choose "Passage Guide" it populates- I would rather have it open up blank and choose what I want in my "new' guide- not someone else's idea of what I need.

Second- no I wasn't aware of that feature- am now it will be definitely used.

Now I can move more quickly making PG templates for each book of Scripture.

For that, you can choose individual sections from the list on the right - you don't need to start by adding "All sections from the Passage Guide"

Does this give you what you need?

And I'm intrigued!

Why do you use different Guides for each book of Scripture?

Is that to include specific Collections of resources or for some other reason?

I made a template for OT and NT passage guide- I found that for example-

1- used NTPG to do PG on Matthew

2- used NTPG to do PG on Romans

3- then added a section to Matthew PG while studying

4- went back to Romans that new section appeared there- this happened with every instance where the NT template was used regardless of book in NT

So to eliminate that behaviour I have created new PG templates for each book of the Bible to avoid this.

This a sample of one NT PG template:

Ok this I did not expect so, this makes building master PG's for each book really quick. I assumed that in order for it to be a PG you had to choose PG from the list, perfect.

Thanks.

Understood - thank you.

And I might add- if you take a good look at my sample of a PG shot- this is exactly why I prefer the option to pin "favorites" to the home page- 95% of the time my day starts from that section- everything I do is organized within favorites.

It would be great if they move 'bookmarks" to the top position and left it collapsed- I very seldom use bookmarks because of it limitations- but having it open expanded seems unnecessary.

I'm afraid I still don't understand the issue here!

I appreciate that favorites are important for the way you work so don't understand why you don't open to a layout containing these favorites as you have shown them instead of starting at the homepage.

What am I missing?

If bookmarks are closed when you close the Favorites Tool, they should still be collapsed when you open it again.

Whenever I open favorites - bookmarks are always open- I have to close them every time for additional screen space.

As far as "favorites" having the ability to be pinned to HP is preference - the layout did not work for me because there are things I look at daily on the HP, and pass on to individuals, who do not have Logos. So having everything at fingers touch is simplifying things for me. But I understand that is not going to happen- so I'm just moving on, as I did with notes, which has now forced me not to hilite in Logos.

Strange - I don't see that on Windows. Are you running on Windows or Mac?

Thanks again for explaining.

One option - which you may be aware of - is pinning the Favorites tool to the shortcut bar - there it is at least accessible from the homepage
