I searched the Forum on how to create a list of pericopes from a Bible. I couldn't find a solution on how to do this within Logos. I thought of an easy solution and would like to share this for those interested.

Create 3 reading plans for the prefered Bible with the following settings

The maximum sessions available for the setting is 1500. Because there are more than 1500 Pericopes I decided to create 3 Reading plans to create the Pericope sets correctly. If you try to create one for the complete Bible it will not generate correctly.

  1. Create a single Passage List.
  2. Do the following for each Reading Plan
    1. Print/Export and click Copy to Clipboard from the Print/Export View.
    2. In the Passage List, Add passages from clipboard

The Passage List will now contain all Pericopes from the preferred Bible.

Here is an easy trick to get a Passage List containing Pericopes as listed in the Bible Browser. Neighboring Passages will be merged into one reference.

  1. Open Bible Browser
  2. Filter the Browser
  3. Set the view to Pericope
  4. Send to Search
  5. Click on the Passage Filter in the Search
  6. Click on Save, but don't actually save
  7. Copy the Reference range name
  8. Create a Passage List
  9. Add from Clipboard
  10. Now you have a Passage List with Pericopes

PJ, I would really like to try this. However, I wasn't able to follow your video...it was too fast and I didn't hear any audio (if there was supposed to be any). The resolution, of your video, on my laptop is really quite blurry. Trying to follow your instructions: 1. No problem, 2. Filter the Browser (with what?), 3. Set the view to Pericope, again, no problem. 4. Send to search (send what to search?) 5-10, since I can't determine how you were filtering the browser, I had nothing to send to search, etc., etc., etc.,

I think that this would be a very good piece of information to have for a Bible reading plan for my congregation, I think!?!

I'm not trying to be critical by any means, it is just that the speed that you went through the video/capture was a little too fast and with no audio (at least on my laptop) it was hard to follow.
I will continue to watch and see if I can catch whatever it is that I'm supposed to sort the Browser by and what to send to search...

Thank you...in anticipation of a revised video or even a word by word explanation of what you did in that video.

Big Smile

I guess I'm more interested in "why" than "how."

For what purpose would you want this list? (Curious, not being flippant.)

My thanks to the various MVPs. Without them Logos would have died early. They were the only real help available.

When I give a Bible Study Group 500 verses they fear the Bible, when I give them 20 Passages, they explore the possibilities with love. It's just to serve with wisdom. I believe everyone that find a purpose would enjoy the possibility of doing this.
