Does anyone have experience with Logos/Verbum 8 on the new MacBook Air?

I have been running L8 on a 2017 Macbook Air. It runs fine.

I also want to know the experience of that. I'm sure it runs fine. But can you explain how fine is that?

"Conventional wisdom" on Logos machines is that one need a multi-core processor together with dGPU (and SSD which becomes standard) for acceptable performance. Even Logos suggests quad-core and dGPU here: https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007554992-Recommended-Hardware-and-Software

Can you tell more about that experience, comparing to other more powerful devices you've used?

Also questions for others if any has use Logos on Macbook (2017 12" retina, with slow m3 processor) and its experience?

I'm currently using 15" MBP with 4 cores and dGPU but it's so heavy and I want to buy one lighter one but am afraid running Logos on it would be miserable comparing to current setup. Note that even on this MBP I only find Logos acceptable but not delightful to use. Logos is just so resource intensive.

Here are my Macbook Air System Specs

When I bought it I had them upgrade to a 512gb SSD

Here are a couple examples of what I mean by fine:

It takes between 6-8 seconds on initial start-up. It takes 4-5 seconds on my windows desktop with what I believe is a 4ghz processor

It takes 2-3 seconds to load this layout after I select it

It takes 1-2 seconds on my windows desktop.

Overall, while the Macbook Air is a little slower when performing some tasks, it is sufficient for me. I use it everyday and, in addition to Logos, I usually have MS Outlook open, along along Chrome. There have been times when I will also have other MS Office, or other apps open at the same time.

Interesting, so it wasn't unbearably slow then? And also, did you notice improvements after upgrading from Logos 7 to 8? Thanks.

I was involved with the pre-release beta testing. To be honest the earlier versions were slower than L7. later pre-release betas had Some significant optimization. By the time it was released, L8 seemed a little more responsive as compared to L7, but I have no data to back that up

Interesting, the "Faster Than Ever" section in https://www.logos.com/8 would have you believe it is hugely improved.

(I'm not saying they're lying, but the metric they chose is not reflected in normal user experience.)

I also don't feel much differences on the computers I use Logos with (All quad cores, all but one has dGPU.)
