Any suggestions on searching for all references in the NT that have "faith" or "believe" as the only requirement for salvation.

Some of the logos wizards here might be able to come up with a search where only 'faith' or 'believe' is mentioned in relation to "salvation" (rather, justification), but since one's understanding of where this idea is found is going to largely be dependent on your theology you might just try looking through the soteriology section of some Protestant systematic theologies or books like the following:

Justified by Faith Alone - RC Sproul

What is Justification by Faith Alone - J. V. Fesko

Faith Alone: The Doctrine of Justification - Thomas Schreiner

You might use the concordance tool on them to see which verses are most commonly discussed.

I'd be inclined to use a topical dictionary for this. I suspect native Logos tagging would be inconclusive. You can find topical dictionaries by filtering your library by type:concordance.

The Dictionary of Bible Themes has a very helpful section on faith, as basis of salvation. Less clear, but possible also helpful is the entry on faith in Torrey's New Topical Textbook.

Remember you can create passage lists from these resources to enable you to see the content of the references at a glance.

The search string "(faith, believe) AND (saved, salvation)" is a useful starting point.

This is searching for verses which contain either "faith" or "believe" AND either "saved" or "salvation".

It doesn't limit to those verses which have faith or belief as the only requirement for salvation. For example:

    • Mk 16:16 speaks about salvation following belief and baptism
    • 1 Cor 15:2 also speaks about holding firmly to the preached word

Search expansion suggestion is trust (related word for faith & believe):

    (faith,believe,trust) (save,salvation)

Noticed trust includes some OT verses: e.g. Psalm 78:22, Isaiah 12:2

Searching a collection of Bibles finds more verses to consider: e.g. Jude 5 for what happened to those who did not believe.
