Are sermons in older works, particularly Puritan sets, still being actively tagged? We've had the Sermons section in the passage guide for years now, but it's only valuable to the extent that sermons we have in our libraries are tagged as such.
This is therefore intended to be a complete list of Works in which there are sermons, but they aren't tagged as such and don't come up as passage guide:
- The works of John Flavel- The works of Robert Traill- The works of David Clarkson- Works of John Owen- Some of the Works of Thomas Boston eg sermons on the Lord's Prayer and the Ten Commandments (vol 2).If you know of others, please list them below.
I would ... but even after omitting those from Text Creation Partnership, I have many such titles. (edition:Logos AND (title:(sermon, homily) OR subject:sermon, homily)) ANDNOT (publisher:"Text Creation") yields 701 resources that probably contain sermons. Some will be instruction manuals. The Search {Label Sermon} on those 701 resources finds 279 that have sermon tags. Examples:
Orthodox Bishop Hilarion Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."
The works of Andrew Fuller aren't tagged either.
It's a pity as one of the main ways I recommend Logos to friends is saying 'see all those sets sitting on your shelves gathering dust? If you type a passage into logos, it will tell you whether you have resources in your library with sermons on that passage - rather than you having to hunt through indexes etc, which realistically no-one does'.
Particularly for public domain works, which most of these are, this is one of the main advantages logos has over google books, archive.org, free kindle versions etc. Or at least it should be.
Are faithlife still tagging sermons in older works? It seems a fairly easy thing to do, but which would add a lot of value to resources.
The works of Andrew Gray could be added to the above list.
Seems like new releases aren't being tagged as sermons either - such as the following 31 sermons advertised as a 'collection of sermons'.
Another collection to add the the original post: The Works of Thomas Adams
Sermons in the works of John Newton aren't tagged either.
Thanks for the suggestions. I've added them to a list of titles to be updated.
Thank you Kyle - is there any update on this? Would it be possible for this thread to be updated when a resource is tagged?

The Tony Evans sermon collection doesn‘t seem to be tagged either.

We have an update to this going out next week.
