I'm excited about addition of the selection menu. Some bugs, however:
This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!
Mark Barnes: I'm excited about improvements to the context menu. Some bugs, however: When selecting text, I get the old context menu up, only to be replaced by the new context menu half a second later. If I click away from the new context menu, and then right-click on the text I previously selected, I get the old context-menu, not the new one. When I clicked the cross to stop nagging me about Program Settings, the warning didn't go away straight away. It only went away after I brought up the menu again. When using CBV, the menu doesn't disappear on click. The highlighting part of the menu doesn't display a preview of my custom styles.

Hi Mark,
How to Enable and Submit Log Files
An additional bug in the Selection Menu:
The "Formatted" and "Lines" options in CV seem to be pulling from the Surface Text line of the RI data in ESV, causing bullets to appear where an underlying Hebrew word isn't associated with a word in the ESV ("hasn't been translated").

I don't see a new context menu. Are you referring to the Selection Menu? If so, it might be worth adjusting the post title...
Philana R. Crouch:Right-clicking will invoke the context menu as normal, the new feature is not a context menu, but a selection menu.
Then I think the delay in displaying the selection menu is too long. I thought I had to click to invoke it. In Word (which will be by far the most common place users are used to seeing this type of menu), the selection menu is instant. In Logos, it takes almost a second for the menu to pop up. That's far too long.
Philana R. Crouch:This is working as expected it is behaving the same way notes does, if you hover over the icon it will tell you the name of the palette and name of the style.
I'd encourage you to re-think this. I appreciate that it's not possible to express every custom style as an icon, but it's certainly possible to come close to that, and hovering over every icon until you find the one you want is not fun. It's quicker to use the highlighting tool.

I would add an Amen to this. This is my one big irritation with the new Notes Tool. Ascetically, It looks broken. Practically, it slows down the user. Please rethink this decision.

I heartily agree.

Count me in, as well. I would hope that this could be addressed both in the selection menu as well as in the Notes tool itself.

Count me in as well! I hope this can be addressed in both the Selection Menu and in the Notes Tool. This is currently unworkable since even the "hover to see the name" option takes a good second to pop up.

I'm not noticing a delay, when I select the text, the pop-up shows up almost instantly. Can you take a screen video so I can see what you are observing?

The trigger for a slow pop-up seems to be selecting at least a paragraph from a reverse-interlinear Bible. Other selections aren't too bad. It's hard to capture on video, because you won't know when I let go of the mouse button, but if you can't reproduce it from that more detailed description I'm willing to try.

I created a case for this. As I was testing this before shipping I did notice some performance issues. I think what you are describing is related to those issues. Thanks for giving us the feedback.

Thanks! I have a Windows installation in a Parallels VM and I discovered that the same option on the Windows side produced different results (both pasted into Apple Pages). The problem on the Windows side was not superscripting the cross-ref and footnote indicators.

These two bugs have been fixed in 8.7 Beta 1.
