Visual Filter documents still use the "old" morph search UI (predating Logos 6.10: https://wiki.logos.com/Logos_6.10#Morph_Search). This is a known issue and unrelated to the bug posted at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/182305.aspx.
with Program Settings having Prefer Lemmas set to Yes
That setting is in the "Text Display" section and affects the selection menu (as described in the Help text for it). It has nothing to do with lemmas in Morph Search, visual filters, etc.

Thanks [:)] For creating/modifying visual filters, my preference is using Search first followed by copy and paste into Visual Filter (so changing "old" UI would be nice for consistency with search)

I think the misconception could be avoided if the 5 options relating to "Text Selection" were separate from Text Display.
The description for "Prefer Lemmas" relates to Lookup, Study & Search on the Menu and in Double-click Actions. There is no mention of Triple-click Actions.
In the ESV, a Lookup for "midnight" (Mt 25:6) uses the first lemma, whilst Search uses the surface word. The previous default for a double-click was a Lookup on the surface word. So I don't know which is the more confusing; the inconsistency or using the first lemma in that situation. The description for "Yes" states "use lemmas... whenever possible". For a word with a single lemma, both Lookup and Search use the lemma.
