The LEB is an excellent translation, but it has one quirk that annoys me. In a translation virtually devoid of English contractions, the LEB uses contractions in at least 21 places (there might be more):
- "didn't" in 1Ki 15:5
- "don't" in 2Sam 9:7, 13:28, 17:16, 24:14, 24:24; 1Ki 17:13, 18:23, 18:25, 18:40; 2Ki 6:16
- "hasn't" in 1Ki 2:23
- "isn't" in Gen 27:36; Ex 14:12
- "I've" in 1Sam 21:5
- "what's" in Job 34:12, 36:16; Psa. 114:5; Jer. 8:12, 51:44
- "won't" in Jonah 1:6
Is there a reason for only 21 contractions existing in a translation that otherwise doesn't use them? Is there a way to alert the translators/publishers of this editing oddity?
