I understand that Apple is about to ship Catalina. Just wondering if Logos is ready for it. The last word is that the Betas were capable of it but nothing official was announced.
Yes, we will be ready for it.
We will offer full support in Catalina for our software, once Catalina has been officially launched.
We had some user bug reports regarding Catalina, and have done some testing internally. We have fixed all known issues in 8.8 (see release notes). If further compatibility issues surface when Catalina releases (and Logos gets more exposure from a wider audience), we will fix them as they arise.
I'm using the latest Logos beta and Catalina beta (19A582a) without any significant issues. Catalina is right on the verge of launching; Apple has released the "golden master" version to developers.
I should have pointed out that I'm always an early adopter of betas (I install on a separate hard drive to test until the systems get along). Others won't install Catalina until it gets its first update (10.15.1) to make sure that every last twitch is out of the system. I figure nothing is perfect, and accept the risks. I also run multiple backups, one onsite, and two in the cloud, so that I'm mostly certain not to lose anything important.
It's here. Installing now. [8-|]
Installed. I believe Catalina runs Logos better probably in part because it's not saddled by any 32 bit architecture. Everything runs better so far.
Glad to hear it. If you run across any issues with Logos, please let us know so we can it take care of!
I upgraded to Catalina last night – now Logos (8.4.0.47) won't open. Upon every reboot of the computer, and when I try to launch Logos, I now receive a message saying:
"Logos.app" is damaged and can't be opened" You should move it to the trash
I upgraded to Catalina last night – now Logos (8.4.0.47) won't open.
Logos 8.4 is very outdated and Logos versions up and until Logos 8.7 are not compatible with Catalina. Upgrade to Logos 8.8
Thanks to the kind and record-settingly quick assistance of Adam Borries, Logos is up and running again.
Good to hear!
