Bug:No notes displayed in MRV resources in 8.8
running 8.8 on macOS 10.14.6
No notes or highlights are displayed in the "guest" resources in a Multi-Resource setup. This is especially problematic when highlighting in a guest resource, since there's zero indication that the highlight happened. When annotations are already present, toggling the MRV will display them for a split second before they disappear.

Rebuben,
Can you provide a screenshot of what Bibles you are using and what notes and highlighting you have turned on in your Visual Filter settings? I'm not able to reproduce this, the instances that they do not show up for me are when I would expect it to. For example if I highlight a selection from a Bible that does not have an RVI then it won't appear in my other Bibles, it will only appear if it is made on the reference.

Philana,
I'm not talking about highlights made in the host resource, but directly in one of the guest resources. I have a few calendar devotionals in an MRV setup and selecting text in a host resource and highlighting does produce a highlight in the Notes tool, but there's no indication (when creating a note, the note at least comes into focus so you know something happened).
Let me know if this doesn't make sense and I'll do a little screencast.
Thanks for investigating!

Hi Reuben,
I should have been clearer, I'm talking about the guest resources. If you could take a screencast it might help to make certain that I'm trying to reproduce it same way you are.

Here's a dropbox link to a small screencast clip. You'll notice that highlights do appear in the notes tool and in the resource when opened by itself, but not when it's a guest in MRV.

Thanks this helped, I've filed a bug report.

I considered linking to this post in the "Logos 9 Wishlist" thread, but this needs to be fixed before L9, it just needs to be fixed already!

This has been fixed in 8.11 Beta 1.

Thanks, Philana. Highlights do now show but there's still a problem with the behavior. When selected highlighted text in the host resource, there are the options to edit/delete but these options don't show up in the selection menu for guest resources.
Additionally, the behavior of the "remove highlights" button in the selection menu differs from the "R" keyboard shortcut. "R" removes the highlight from only the selected portion (splitting into two separate anchors if needed), then if the entire highlight is selected AND no note has been added to the highlight the highlight gets completely removed from the notes tool.... [This is the preferred behavior]!
The selection menu button, on the other hand, removes the entire highlight no matter how much of the highlighted text is selected. It leaves this empty, useless "highlight" in the notes tool, requiring manual cleanup.
Please make the selection menu button behavior match the "R" keyboard shortcut behavior.
Also, "R" doesn't yet work in guest resources... Please fix.

Hi Reuben,
We already have an open case for the issue of not being able to mark-up quest resources. I've added this thread to that case. I have also created a case suggesting that the keyboard shortcut remove annotations.
