Hi Tim,

the plot thickens, as another user reported issues with syntax search as well. The following is what I wrote to him, but applies to you as well:

But the information you gave is too scarce to do something about (like confirming that there's a bug the developers need to do something about, or detecting an issue with your installation, such as a corrupt resource, or with your way of going about it). Please provide more information: what book are you running/trying to run the syntax search against? Best to provide a screenshot.

What about logs? Logos/Verbum will provide information about crashes. The best way is to start Verbum with CTRL held down, as this will invoke detailed logging. Let the program start and conclude initial background steps such as "updating library". Produce the crash. Then, before restarting the program, fetch the logs (details under http://wiki.logos.com/diagnostic_logging ) and post them, here, together with the info.

I am doing Seach All Passages in Andersen-Forbes Phrase Marker Analysis Dataset.

I press on Query and from the Menu I choose "New Syntax Search." It opens an Untitled Syntax Search as it should. I click on "Add Search terms here" and it brings up the usual menu. I then choose an item (just now it was "Phrase" but previously it was "Clause" or "Supra-Clausal Element") and Logos crashes.

Hi Tim,

I can confirm, it crashes for me, too. Maybe attach some logs for the developers to find the bug?

I've been using Logos a long time and I think that this might just be my first post here. I've never encountered crashes like this previously. The problem occurs with the current version of Logos on both my laptop and desktop machines (both using the current version of Win 10 Pro).

I can confirm that Logos crashes when adding the first search term to a new syntax search on the following syntactic databases: Anderson-Forbes; Open Text GNT; GNT & Dataset SBL Edition; BHS WIVU Syntactic Analysis.

For some reason searches on the Cascadia Syntax Graphs (GNT or LXX Apocrypha) and Lexham Syntactic GNT seem to be OK.

Any idea when Logos 8.14 comes out?

Syntax Searches in Hebrew are INCREDIBLY POWERFUL and losing them is inhibiting my work on various formulae of the Hebrew Bible. There are many features in Syntax Searches that cannot be reduplicated by any combination of morphological searches.
