I can't reproduce this crash with the same versions of Catalina and Logos
I can't reproduce the crash on Windows either - but was there a crash? I'm not competent in any way to interpret Mac logs, but it seems to me the last crash logged was sometime in 2019 and the error log shows many internet issues, but not a crash. Did the program hang and had to be force-closed by the Mac-equivalent of task manager/a kill process command? Or do crashes happen so fast that Logos can't even write its own logs (in rare cases this happens in Windows, but then the OS event log entries are pretty straight forward about it)?
Have joy in the Lord!

I may have muffed my logging effort as it was my first try at this on my Mac. But, it happens repeatedly. As noted in my edit if I modify my search by typing Justin as opposed to JUSTIN all is well. But crash it does, at least for me. Here I've prepared some fresh logs.NB.Mick said:Graham Criddle said:Amodeo said:Change search string to <Biography JUSTIN Martyr> hit ENTER.

I coped your search string into Logos 8.14 beta 1 Mac OS 10.15.4—No crash, but no results either.

After changing JUSTIN to Justin, received some results, but none from AYBD. Still no crash, no freeze—everything worked normally.
Not having anything to do with your crash, but the string <Person Justin Martyr> did find AYBD plus a few other resources. Seems that persons in AYBD are tagged Person rather than Biography.

I'm befuddled. I sure as creation get consistent crashes which I hope my Logs demonstrate. I also get results with <Person Justin Martyr> for fun I tried <Person JUSTIN Martyr> and it returned the same results as the former. Do you have any of the resources from my search on <Biography Justin Martyr>? See below:Edit:From past experience I've observed that these isolated crashes are often due to a corrupt file. I hope that someone can determine the cause of my personal experience. On the other hand I can just avoid the routine causing the crash. But, this is a less satisfying compromise.

Yes, I received the same hit you have, but with JUSTIN, I had not hits.

Would appreciate if someone from FL or a MVP would examine my Logs and advise regarding my program. Thanks in advance!Amodeo said:

You have an unusual crash that we can't reproduce.
It's possible there's a bug, but it's also possible your index files are malformed/corrupt and triggering the problem.
As an initial troubleshooting step, I'd recommend entering "rebuild index" into the Command Box and let Logos reindex your library (this may take a few hours). If the problem still occurs after that, we can investigate further.

<Biography JUSTIN Martyr> is not a valid data type reference, so the search engine falls back to searching for "Biography JUSTIN Martyr". I expect you should be able to reproduce the crash with that search.

Situation solved; no more crash[8-|]
There are no search results as has been explained by you. Respectfully request that data type reference be made valid and Factbook data be cited among the results as the information it returns is rich and highly relevant I find esp. useful is the Works section. MVP MJ. is my source for this request and she has my unreserved support in this matter.Beloved Amodeo said:Change search string to <Biography JUSTIN Martyr> hit ENTER.

I'm not sure what it is you're requesting here. Entering justin martyr into the Search box shows the data type reference in the autocompleter helper.
Picking it runs a search that includes Factbook in the results, which you can click for more information.
What needs to be changed?

I see you have done an Everything search. My search was on All Resources, that was my mistake. I have learned something valuable from this exchange. Thank you.Beloved Amodeo said:Respectfully request that data type reference be made valid and Factbook data be cited among the results as the information it returns is rich and highly relevant I find esp. useful is the Works section.

Not at all! A search on All Resources will yield the same suggestions. Everything just provides more entries to search (like Factbook).
Your logs show you have Visual Filers for Louw-Nida searches on resources like AYBD and Important Words Dataset Documentation, which will never provide results e.g. <LN ~ 84.16-28>. I suggest you delete them and save some time during startup.

This crash was fixed in 8.14 RC 1 so for those who are on the beta channel you can see if this fixes the crash. We had some difficulty reproducing it internally.
