Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my notes

I have Logos 8.13 on a Windows 10 laptop

I created a note file with a numbered list of questions ( manually, not using the list editor), but when I enter the answers to those questions I created, I use the list editor.

Example of how it may look:

What is our joy?

a Answer

b Answer

  1. sub-answer
  2. sub-answer

2 What was the joy set before Jesus?

a Answer

b Answer

  1. sub-answer
  2. sub-answer
  3. sub-answer
  4. sub-answer
  5. sub-answer

When I close Logos or the Note Tool and reopen it all the answers and sub-answers are relocated all under the first question. If I then cut and paste them back under the correct question and close again or sync, it happens again.

I've noticed other similar issues in this forum using the list editor and wondered if they are connected to a single bug in this editor.

Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?

Sorry, I see that some of the indents disappeared when I posted this, hopefully you still get the idea of my issue.

Welcome to the forums ... sorry you are having troubles with the Notes feature. The forum software and the desktop/laptop software are unconnected so the two problems are independent.

I know that the HTML generated in the forums looks like and know that what you are trying to do, will generally not work. When you ask the editor to build a list it tags the beginning and ending point of list and the beginning and ending point of each item in that list. When you cut and paste you are disrupting the tagging structure and forcing the editor to try to put it together as best it can. I would have to actually watch you to see why you get the precise results you do but I would not expect the results you want.

You should be able to get what you want by doing it all manually or all in the note editor - just don't try to mix them in the same list structure.

Thank you MJ for your help

I'll try again to use the editor only. I had trouble before using it that way, but at the moment I don't recall what it was. Good to know the editor is working and I just need use it properly.Embarrassed
