So a friend of mine bought a book for a seminary class and the book came with a LIbronix cd. He uses other bible software, so he offered me the cd. Would it be a licensing violation for him to use the print book and let me have the cd?

i wouldn't know for sure without reading the small print, but I doubt it. What is key is the license that will be tied forever with your account. The hard copy could be burned up, spoiled in a flood, sold on ebay, or left in the library.
