Bug: Please stop trying to second-guess my searches

This is really annoying, as I don't need an automatic search of my preferred bible, especially when it is over  a different range. At the very least you should know NOT to perform the search when the section is collapsed e.g. when my search is  <Gen-Mal>, the result takes MUCH longer.

Although this occurs only when doing milestone searches I agree. Unexpected and not desired.

This looks really strange to me. Logos shouldn't be ignoring your explicit choice of resource. Must be a BUG.

Is this new in beta 2?

I don't see this on the stable platform and there is nothing in the release notes that would point to this.

(I did my test searching in both ESV and NRSV with my preferred Bible NIV - so the reverse of what Dave is showing - but I wouldn't expect that to change this)

    I don't know.

If I perform an All Passages search in another bible and then click Bible Search ESV, this is the result:-

The VERSES result of 3228 is correct according to a Basic Search! But there remains the issue that clicking on a highlighted result does not open ESV to the correct place whilst clicking a result in ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION will open ESV to the correct place!

    Hi Dave,

I've created a case for this issue, there might be a reason why it was implemented this way, so it might not be changed. I've asked someone to take a look and determine if this is a bug.

I agree. I don't like that it slows down searches significantly and ignores the scope I told Logos to search.

I did not find this behavior in Logos 9.3 Beta 2, but it showed up after I updated to Beta 3.

This has been fixed in 9.5.

This has been fixed in 9.5.

The example I use has been fixed because it was interpreted as:

redundant results in Preferred Bible section for cross-reference searches when the input reference is a whole book of the Bible.

This also was intended as a bug:-

    .

    i.e.

I don't need an automatic search of my preferred bible

And what use is a milestone search when a cross-reference search is intended!?
