Richard P. South:

I did a backup of my Documents and uploaded but my Wordsearch documents are still not showing in Logos.

Is this still being worked on or did I miss something?

Wordsearch Documents (HTML files) are not currently imported. There is some related discussion above. As with Sermons and Illustrations, I don't think we've made a final decision on how that will work.

I have again tried a transfer of documents into logos. There are some of my personal notes missing. With in excess of 3,500 notes there is no way of knowing how many, but I have found some that are missing.

Only 13 out of 70 documents have uploaded.

The IVS tab in Wordsearch is particularly helpful. I normally prepare a passage study by writing a verse-by-verse commentary, then using the IVS tab to combine all the individual verse notes into one. I have not found anything comparable to this in Logos. Is there any way of merging a number of consecutive notes into one note in another notebook?

Sorry to hear this! If you have one or more specific examples, I can dig in and try to figure out why they are missing.

I'm not sure what documents you are referring to.

Missing notes:  In my WS Sermons Notebook I have 7 Notes on the book of Revelation.  Only 6 have transferred.  No. 4 is missing.

Documents: In Wordsearch there is a documents folder which was included in my backup.  The folder contained about 70 documents, but there are only 13 of the in the documents tab in Logos.

Actually, I have just realised that the documents in the document list in Logos are verse lists, so none of my documents have transferred, unless they are included in my notes in which case I don't know how to find them.

It looks like the missing note was moved to the WS Personal notebook after it was imported.

HTML documents are not currently imported. According to the original post: We are still deciding how to handle these document types. Your feedback on which document types are the most important for us to focus next is appreciated.

Not sure how many types of documents there are, but the ones I would like are those created using the Wordsearch word processor.

So my many years of word processor documents will not be transferable into Logos as is? Is there any other option that might be used? I have years of sermons sorted by book and liturgical year that it seems I will now be losing...OUCH!

I agree, I'm also waiting for Wordsearch documents to be converted as well.  I used Wordsearch documents for all of my lesson notes, so having this in Logos would be wonderful.  Thank you!

My friend, you have not lost anything. Unlike most of the user data types in Wordsearch (e.g. Verse Lists, Sermons & Illustrations, NoteStacks, User Books...), the Word Processor documents are actually just simple HTML files sitting in whatever folder(s) your Wordsearch "My Documents" setting points to. You can determine that by going to Options -> Settings, and looking at the My Documents location in Startup and Path Settings. That's where they'll all be, unless you had some funky saving scheme of your own, in which case you'd know where they are better than me!

If you double-click one of those files, it will likely open up in your default web browser. But if you right-click it, then choose "Open With...", you should be able to pick Microsoft Word or whatever else you might use as a regular word processor, and that will allow you to edit if you like.

I went through the process of uploading my "Notes" and the message below is what I've been stuck on for 2 days. What could have gone wrong. The site won't allow me to start over with a new upload.

Now would be a good time to attach Logs (see signature line) to a post.

Sorry about that! The importer had stopped working so I restarted it. Hopefully that fixes the problem. I'll try to make sure it won't happen again.

I have spent several hours trying to import my documents to Logos, got tthe Geek Squad with Best Buy to try to help me, talked to Logos customer support twice who of course simply say they cannot help me, and I cannot import my documents from Wordsearch to Logos. Logos support said my only option was to reach out on this site. Can someone tell me how I can preserve the years of work that I spent with Wordsearch?

Greetings Steve and welcome to the forums. There is usually somebody here that can help with most things.

For the volunteers that work here we will need a bit more information from you.

OS and Logos version numbers.

The steps you take and the point at which the process fails. Screen shots are likely to be a great help.

Most probably the logs of the session, see my signature line, taken after a failure and before restarting.

Given the information above there is likely to be someone that can analyse the information for you.

Hi Steve

Which document types are you trying to import?

Please see https://community.logos.com/forums/t/199562.aspx - the original post in this thread - which outlines what is currently supported and what is not

My research was contained in documents in the word processing feature of Wordsearch. It appears there is not a similar feature in Logos. From the list of what Logos calls "documents", it appears that it only includes notes and highlights. So in my case, does this mean there is not a way to transfer my research to Logos?

Not having been a Wordsearch user, but having read the article in the link that Graham posted, it would seem that your 'research' should be movable to Logos.

Perhaps if you explained how the article linked does not apply. Or showed some screenshots of how the process fails, we might be able to give you some relevant advice.
