...by which I don't mean I'm about to ask you all something deep, but a question about searching. Geeked

So if I do a Bible search using the following parameters:

Search All Bible Text in All Passages in Bibles Only for

"eternities"

WHY is it coming back with verse results that include "eternal", "Eternal", "eternally", "eternity"...? Aren't the quote marks telling Logos, "Search only for this word?" If not, what should I be doing differently? Don't get me wrong, eternities was included in those results, but I had to go rooting through hundreds of hits to find them, which defeats the purpose, methinks.

Thanks, kids! Happy Easter season to all! Smile

Carmen Gauvin-O'Donnell:

Search All Bible Text in All Passages in Bibles Only for

"eternities"

[match all] eternities

OR

[match exact] eternities

Well that got it right, Keep Smiling 4 Jesus, thanks!

So what do quote marks do, then?

They are really for phrases - matching the extra string you specify

And as well as the options shown by KS4J you can get the same results by disabling Match all word forms in the panel menu

A-HA! And a FURTHER clarification - thanks for that Graham - that explains why it used to just find that one result, but had stopped doing that...

And THAT, people, is why I love these fora. There are always people like Keep Smiling 4 Jesus and Graham around to help us out!

Thanks!
