One of my friends and I were talking about the age when prophets were called to the ministry in Old Testament times. We know that Samuel was quite young and Jeremiah speaks about being called before he was born. Where can I find this type of information, as a summary for all of the prophets whose approximate ages we know, in terms of when they were called to the ministry? Any help on specific prophets? Were any prophets called when they were much older? And I do not mean when they received their actual prophetic call necessarily, but also when they began to work in the ministry so to speak.
Those regarded (in Scripture) as OT prophets include those we don't commonly think of as prophets (Abraham & David being 2 instances, each of whom Scripture either explicitly calls a prophet or explicitly says wrote prophetically). For those we usually think of as "prophets" (the 3 major & 12 minor prophets), not all of them are given an age. Ages that we can easily find by searching a Bible for early occurrences of their names span the ages of 80 (Moses) to before birth (Jeremiah). Blessings on your search.

Hi Bill, thanks so much for your response. I saw it last week but it has been a crazy week and I was only now able to go back and thank you.
