If Textual Commentaries are sufficiently "different" as to have their own section in the Textual Variants guide section, why aren't they available as a separate type in the Commentaries guide section? My experience with Logos is to check and double check data so I appreciate multiple ways to access the same data.

I don't know how many commentaries in Logos/Verbum qualify as textual commentaries, but knowing which ones do address such issues would be helpful. I also can't say exactly what qualifies a given commentary as being "textual". Many commentaries have sections that address textual issues, but it may only constitute 10-20% of their content. Would those qualify? Are there many that are solely textual commentaries? I know that Metzger has a NT commentary in which he addresses and grades textual variants.

I think having a method of identifying such resources would help. I'm not sure just where the "cut off" would be for what resources qualify. Perhaps there could a two-tiered approach where resources that are wholly dedicated to text issues could get a "full" rating, and those that are partially focused on text issues could get a "partial" rating. That would give users the ability to run a search limited to dedicated commentaries, but if they need more input they could expand the search by including the "partial" resources as well.
