Are there any suggestions on how best to use the new Thompson Chain Reference titles in Logos? I have the Topical Index and Margin Notes open along with the ESV Bible open to 1 John.
I have linked all of these panels together. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Jerry
Update: I found a thread in the Logos 9 Desktop forum. I will follow it.
Hi Gerald:
In my country there was a course offered to learn to use the TCR. That is the place where I found out it was available in WS.
One of the cool things of the course is that in the handout they gave a list of important topics that should be studied. With Logos tools, the studies can be taken to even higher levels.
I will translate (roughly) for you some of the topics, please understand that they may not correspond to the English terms, and hopefully the chains are the same so I will post a screen capture of what I am talking about for you to locate the 1st reference in each topic.

See the difference is that in Logos you can go deeper into details you encounter.
You can apply an inductive Bible study approach to each topic and see how it compares,
you can also find key concepts and find out how different traditions have interpreted such and applied,
you can do discourse analysis, word study, cross reference study and the like.
You can explore how different topics relate and what weight they have in different discipleship schemes, according to tradition, etc.
You can explore to see the part that each topic has in the Christian Worldview, etc.
Just ideas for sparking your creativity.
Peace and grace.
Thanks for sharing this. This is a good reference.
I was so excited to see "new Thompson Chain Reference titles in Logos", but after searching the Logos store, I can't find anything, what am I missing???
You are welcome Gerald.

Hi NL:
Yes is good, but it seems like for now only those that migrated from WordSearch are getting the titles, maybe in the future they will be available for purchase for non-WS users.
Is there a way to share layout files using Faithlife? If not, I can share screenshots of my Thompson layouts.

Here are my screenshots of Logos and Wordsearch (so you can see how I brought the Wordsearch Desktop concept into a Logos Layout). Let me know if I need to explain anything or even produce a screencast about it if I get a free moment to whip one up.
