I was using the Hebrew Bible Discourse visual filter in my bible ("Discourse features (Hebrew)"), and whenever I hover over the ‹✓ Point ✓› or ‹✕ Counterpoint ✕› notations, the pop-up that's supposed to give you the definition of these notations is blank. The other notations are working fine, and the definition pops up as expected. However, the pop-up for the ‹✓ Point ✓› and ‹✕ Counterpoint ✕› notations has the title of the notation and the resource (The Lexham Discourse Hebrew Bible: Glossary), but there's no text being pulled in for the definitions.

I was looking at Exodus 1:17 where it says: "But the midwives feared God ‹✕ and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, ✕› ‹✓ but let the male children live. ✓›".  When I hover over the ‹✕ and the ‹✓ all I get is "Counter Point (Clause) | LDHB Glossary" and "Point (Clause Level) | LDHB Glossary", but the definitions of Point and Counterpoint from the LDHB Glossary do not appear.

Unfortunately, I can't do screen shots right now so I hope this description is clear enough to detail the problem. The Greek Discourse visual filter seems to be working fine, and the rest of the Hebrew Discourse notations seem to be working fine. It looks like there's just a problem with Point and Counterpoint for the Hebrew Bible.

I was just curious at how early the missing glossary-info can be traced. I used your example.

The earliest manuscripts (LDHB approx 2012)

- Had 2 popups; one a label-type, and another for a short explanation from the initial glossary mss's.

The next manuscript known as the LHDOT,

- Combined both popups, and doubled the info from the glossary mss, suggesting a new mss had been produced, sometime in the months 2013-14.

Approximately 2 years later, the current dataset was produced.

- Its popup glossary-text reverted to the earlier glossary mss; scholars are not sure the reason, but some surmise liberal tendencies had been found in the later mss.

So!  Sometime between 2016 and 2021, Logosian copyists skipped over, or possibly disagreed with the point/counterpoint popups (hotly debated, of course). And they're missing to this day. Smiling.

Some external data for you. Sometime between 2018-2020, an early Logos Father (Morris Proctor) made a training video called "Webinar: Hidden in Plain Sight: Discourse Features" where he referenced the Hebrew Discourse visual filters, and his hover-over pop-ups reflected the correct data. Judging from the layout of his context menu, the video was produced sometime after version 8.7 (ca. August 2019 CE) when the context menu was redesigned. Therefore this "corruption" crept into the tradition sometime after this point.

Your additional research will be welcomed in next month's Annals of the Logosian Northwestern Research Assoc. (currently under-water).

Good catch!

FYI...that MP training video was done in June 2020. The LDHB glossary was last updated in August 2020.
