Good morning

I have the privilege to prepare sermons in different languages, and even using different Bible versions in the same language. Since I use the automatic text in the sermon builder, which utilizes the preferred Bible, I wonder if there is a quick way to change the preferred Bible.

For example using the Command box, which in turn could be turned into a toolbar button.

The quickest way I know of is opening the library window, Clicking the three dots, selecting "prioritize resources", dragging my preferred Bible to the top and then closing the window.

There is a Command ---> Set Preferred Bible to {Title | Abbreviation}  e.g. Set Preferred Bible to ESV.

If you do this frequently, you should check the order of your bibles in "Prioritize Resources".

This is becoming an issue for me too. I take classes with instructors that use different translations and teach from Logos. I have created different layouts to use with each class, but it is awkward to change the priority translation before each class, and even more awkward not to switch.

For me, it would be enough to be able to set an override for each layout. I know I can direct all links to open a Bible that is not my prioritized Bible, but that is not enough. I wish I could do a complete override.

I think it would be useful if this command worked independently of "Prioritized Resources." In other words, the command had no effect on the order of your "Prioritized Resources." Or, establish a separate command to accomplish this task.

There is guy on the forums that keeps endlessly banging on about 'Projects'. If any one with ears was listening; having a principle translation for a project would be a no brainer'.

(Actually implementing Projects is a no brainer although I guess it would be a huge amount of work. Perhaps it could be done for the Mac when the code is written to run natively on the the M series chips)

Thank you for your replies.

The command did the trick, and it can be turned into a toolbar button. The button behaves a little bit strange, but it does work. Great.

It seems to me that the command moves the resource to the top of the priority list. I understand why someone would want the preferred Bible to be independent of that list, but I would be less straightforward. I think it is better the way it is.

In what way is the switching back & forth of different preferred Bibles influencing the mobile apps? They are taking over automatically the settings, don’t they?

It does transfer to mobile app (Android at least).

Yes. All changes to resource prioritization sync across all devices.
