Clause Search Question

I'm exploring the Clause search feature but am confused as to why a particular search does not seem to give the results I'm expecting.

My search is: agent:God verb-lemma:ברך.2

I'm clause searching the Lexham Hebrew Bible and limiting my search to Gen 12.

I would expect to see Gen 12:2 where God says, "I will bless you" - I being God as the agent, and the verb ברך

Can someone point out what I'm doing wrong, or misunderstanding? Any help is much appreciated!

Created thread => Bug ? Clause Search in LHB for person:God sense:to bless (favor) NOT finding Genesis 12:2 ? that used verb sense to replicate Genesis 12:2 not being found. After downloading 1.5 GB of resource updates & indexing completed, Clause Search in LHB for person:God sense:to bless (favor) now includes Genesis 12:2 in results.

I think I'm completely updated and syncing is complete.

I can replicate your Bible search: speaker:God INTERSECTS sense:"to bless (favor)" and that finds Gen 12:2, but the clause search does not. (I've posted that screenshot).

Yes, that is very curious. If you look at your first screenshot, you will see that there were 89 hits, while my search had 86 hits (the Gen 12 ones missing).

The Clause Participants section of the Bible Word Study guide that you show above also only has 86 hits with God as the Agent.

However, when I do a Clause search of Gen 12, searching ONLY for agent:God, Gen 12:1-3 shows up.

Yes - and I've just gone back to check and found out why.

On Windows it gives the 89 results and includes Gen 12:2 whereas on Mac it just shows 86 results.

(I did my first test on Windows - hence my initial screenshot - but was using my Macbook when I came back to look at it again)

I don't know why this should be the case - the version of the LHB is the same on both.

And even that isn't the whole story!

On Windows running the current stable release 23.2 - I get 86 results that don't include Gen 12:2

On the same Windows system, running the current beta 24.0 beta 4 - I get 89 results including Gen 12:2

On Mac - also running the current beta - I get 86 results that don't include Gen 12:2 (this system is indexing and I'll check again when it finishes)

EDIT: I've cross-posted in the beta forum at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/214698.aspx (and there was no change after my Macbook finished indexing)

agent:God sense:to say (express) shows the connection. In 12:2-3 God is not directly mentioned in proximity to "go", "bless", "make" but 17:16 "bless" is recognised with God as agent!

I notice that your search Bible is "2012h LHB Lexham Hebrew Bible" is that a different version available in the Beta?

Mystery solved. I just ran an update and the search now returns Gen 12:2 and 12:3 as hits.

Same for me - and the update included an update to the LHB Clauses dataset.
