Vote: Make the Logos.com store better

There are a handful of store improvement suggestions on Feedbug that could use our upvoting (and FL's attention!). (Remember, this site is not just for book suggestions!) Most of these suggestions have to do with the wishlist and wishlist-like features, but there are some other interesting store suggestions in here as well.

This isn't true in my case at least. I will not preorder a book that I simply want to wishlist. If I don't wishlist it I forget about it or lose track of it and it never gets purchased. Items on my wishlist tend to get purchased eventually, even if it takes years. If I do preorder something it's either because I'm definitely going to buy it at that price because it's a good price, or I'm trying to help the item get from 'gathering interest' to 'in production'. In the second case, I cancel the preorder before it releases and add the item to my wishlist after it's been produced. But I only do that for very few items. Most items I just chose not to preorder and then I forget about them. If I could wishlist them there's a better chance of me actually buying them at some later point.

I would like to add a suggestion as someone who uses the store a lot - specifically looking for books - allow the filter options to enable us to select a "Not" - for example, if I want to see all the Faithlife, Verbum, Lexham Press, and other categories of prepubs, but just not eReaders, I have to select all the boxes one at a time - the list gets re-generated - then select the next box etc. That can take awhile!

It would be much easier to just have a way to say "Not this". This could be useful too in categories like publisher, format, genre, christian group (especially if the 'not' worked the same way as selection - allowing multiple choices. Picking a "all denominations but..." could be less checkbox-regeneration of the list then checking the ones of interest.)

Is there a forum here where this topic can be discussed? I already left Circle and Facebook because I couldn't. In the Tips Circle Facebook group they told me to come here and now you tell me that this is not the place either. That's interesting.

I consider positions like these without vision because if the company wants to grow it must receive criticism in everything, even the color it uses for its forums or its pages on the Internet and even a comma that can change the understanding of a product that is bought. These criticisms must be heard and analyzed if they have any basis and if such changes will really be to improve the company and its own performance.

I will not send anything to your email. I have already sent some criticisms to the CEO of the company.

Maybe the big problem I'm facing is cultural. Rick Warren has written a book: Church with Purpose. Some commentators here in Brazil said that he wrote for the North Americans what was already observed here in the South Americans - Brazil.

My criticisms, you already had the opportunity to read them, if not, some are on the Circle that despite me having left the posts are still there.

But I would really like to know if there is already a specific forum for this, if not then I will create one. Respecting the rules about forums, first I need to know if there is one, otherwise I will not create one.

Now it is certain that respect must be the basis of criticism and I am willing to criticize with as much respect as possible.

Thanks, Justin! I agree wholeheartedly, I think that is a great idea. But in that thread you also hit on something else that can be improved upon: let our in-app Logos library also show current prices/sale prices and allow us to sort/filter the way we could with the web store. That would be an app improvement though, not a website improvement per se.

There is also an idea I posted a long time ago to improve the store, I forgot about.

There are obviously pros and cons to continuous loading (including losing your place when you return to the search later), but it is rather tedious to have to click "next page" every few seconds. Why not give both options to users, and allow them to choose what works best for them? SineNomine's suggestion of "100 items per page" is a good median between options. In any event, for a store that sells tens of thousands of books (and continues to grow), solutions for how to best present these tens of thousands of products to the right customers is something that ought to be continually investigated and improved. That the store has remained largely unchanged in the past eight years is incredible to me.

Alright, let's go to some suggestions. For each suggestion applied on the site U$ 100 credit in the account hahaha.

1- The link to use logos must not be together with the download link. Currently we must click on "Download App" and then go to "Use Online". The ideal is to have a separate icon that is shown on the home screen.

1.1 - As much as everyone can download the free version of Logos. Logos could have an icon for online use of a free version where a person who doesn't have an account can try it out. A version that won't save any data entered or anything like that, but that will make the person get an idea for themselves of the logos, at least the free version.

2 - On the package book comparison page, when using the custom comparison I can only see 3 at a time and it is very, very annoying to have to keep going left and right and not have a complete view of my 7 or more packages I'm comparing. Logos could apply a button to extend and see all packages being compared. For those who have a larger screen and I believe that everyone who makes use of Logos has something like this would take advantage of it. Comparing package features is the same thing.

3 - Unless there has been no update and it is not profitable for Logos to do so, the academic products store has not had an update of its items for years. Something should be added there. Is it just those items that are academic.

4 - Today 04/04/2023 is not like that but there have been times when the home page was full of large icons, it seems that most customers are blind. This forces us to have to go down the page meters to get where we want. The ideal is to put all possible information on one page and a maximum of two being scrolled down.

5- The shopping cart is another problem. When I add several items and want to remove them I have to do it one by one, what a waste of time. There should be a checkbox so I can select the items I want to remove. An option to send these items to my wishlist may apply. Maybe Logos might think that by making it harder to get out of the cart customers will buy but making it harder to get out means we don't put much stuff in there either.

6- Another very, very annoying thing is to switch from the English site and go to another Logos site in Spanish, Portuguese, German or other and realize that the currency display has also changed. This can not happen. This has to be linked to my account. If I set the Brazilian Real I should go to the websites and see the exchange rate in Brazilian Real and not have to keep going every time I change it to Brazilian Real.

7- There are certainly more things... As soon as they come to mind, I'll post them here.
