Sentence Diagramming: Inserting Text and Printing
I have two requests regardging sentence diagramming:
First, it is currently only possible to insert text based on the pre-defined pericopes. It would be very nice to be able to insert the passage based on simply typing the passage. L3 worked this way.
Second, as far as I can tell, there isn't a way to print or export diagrams without having the blue lines appear. Is there a way to turn these off that I'm not aware of? If not, it would be nice to be able to do so!

I'm able to type a chapter and verse (e.g., Gen 1:1) and have the correct match come up, other than a pericope. It does not accept a book or chapter without a verse. What passage are you having trouble entering?

There doesn't appear to be a way to remove the blue lines showing the text flow diagram. I can submit your request for consideration.

For example, try Philippians 4:1-8. While 4:2-9 works (because it is in the system), 4:1-8 won't be accepted. After experimenting, it appears that if more than five verses are selected, only set pericopes work. So Philippians 4:1-5 works, but 4:1-6 doesn't.

I agree David. I do not have the Beta. I am eagerly awaiting the SR. However, when I do this, I create my own pericopes. I do not necessarily depend on what is given.

Yes, I see that now. I'll look into it for you.
This will be fixed in 4.1 B11. There will no longer be a limit to the verse count. Update: It will be limited to chapter boundaries.

I don't know if this is in the works for the current Beta or future betas, but in L3 in a text flow diagram, you can change word order. I don't seem to be able to do this in L4.
Also, will there be an option to export to pdf coming?

i am not very experienced in Sentence Diagramming...
- If you click on a word, you can then drag the word where you want it (Drag = left click and not release the mouse, then move the mouse while the left button is down).
- To move more than one word, with your mouse in an open area (off a word) click and drag a rectangle around the words that you want to move. Once they are all selected, you can drag them as a single unit.
3. Or if you have entered a sentence or phrase...you can click on the phrase to select it.
4. Then you click on Split to have the words separated. Then you can use steps 1 & 2 to rearrange them.

EDIT: If you have a PDF printer driver you can print to a PDF using Print/Export.

Yes, this way you have it is certainly one way, but I believe you have imported the text as a line diagram instead of a text flow diagram (L3 called it Wrapping Columns). In L3's SD, it allows you to change word order in the text flow (Wrapping Columns) mode. I like being able to move chunks of text around in text flow mode. In line diagram mode, you have to move one word at a time which is very tedious. But if you need to move the text to, say, be in a word order to match the Greek, in L3 SD, you could do this easily; in L4, it looks like now the only way would be to import in line diagram mode, select the text you want to move, move it, join the rest and split as necessary, move, then go on... again, very tedious.

You can move chunks of text around in text flow in Logos 4. For instance, if I insert John 1:1 in the NASB95 as a text flow diagram, I can click on the second "was" and drag the segment "was with God and the word was God" to another location. I can then click on the first "was" and drag the segment "was the Word and the Word" elsewhere. It doesn't seem to move text quite the same as in Logos 3, though, so I'll check into how it is expected to work in Logos 4.

Thanks for your response. You folks are so helpful. I am probably not explaining myself too well.
Here is a graphic to hopefully depict what I am trying to say. In SD in L3 I can grab the word ourselves from Titus 3:3 and move it to be with were.
In L4, I cannot... it won't move backward. The moving of chunks of text works fine in both. But, ability to change word order only seems to work in L3.

Also, in L3's SD, you can right click on a word and have a menu displayed that will execute the display information window and other options.
In L4, right-clicking a word only shows the typical Windows text options menu. Are there any plans to add this to L4?

This may be by design; however, I have submitted this as a suggestion for consideration. There is more information provided in Logos 4 when using the Alternate Lines in a diagram.
