{BUG} Why Does My Book Look like an Ebook and Not a Readers Edition?

I am a bit bothered by the layout of What Hath Darwin to Do with Scripture? Comparing Conceptual Worlds of the Bible and Evolution. It looks like an ebook rather than a Readers Edition. Is this to be expected moving forward, or was someone asleep at the wheel on formatting this particular book?

I'm not convinced there's much difference between a Reader's Edition and a Faithlife eBook.

Logos Reader Editions are designed to be read cover to cover. We tag Scripture references and some other basics, but forgo the robust treatment given to reference works. This drastically speeds up production, which often enables us to release them the same day as print.

No, report it as a production bug i.e. put BUG in front of the title and (preferably) show an example of the problem(s).

True, there isn't much difference between those, but this one is supposed to be a Logos Edition, which is supposed to get the full "robust treatment given to reference works".

I don't own this, so I can't check on the formatting issues you're seeing, Cliff. Maybe you could post a screenshot and/or explain what's wrong with the layout?

    It's a Reader Edition:

I think both the Research and Reader editions are referred to as Logos Editions.

Some of the things that make me think that this was not done properly are the following:

    1. The paragraph spacing seems off.

    2. The headings are in color

    3. The promotional material at the end of the book.

    4. The fact that it has the cover photo included

    5. The use of the up or down arrow does not scroll, but rather it just flips to the next or previous page.

I have compared it to a recent Reader Edition, The Reality of God and Historical Method: Apocalyptic Theology in Conversation with N. T. Wright and Dru Johnson's book is nothing like it. It is sloppier and not up to the same standard as the aforementioned work.

Note the difference between Johnson's work (on the left) and the Reality of God book (on the right):

    T

The headings are different, the paragraph spacing is much nicer (and more like Logos books) for the Reality of God book.

These are just some of the things that help me draw the conclusion that Johnson's book needs to be reformatted and done correctly.

    Bump.

I just want to get clarification on this. If this is the new Reader Edition I may want to rethink where I buy these types of books.

The resource production people are on the forums less often than the software beta/bug teams. It may take several days to get a response. However, the eBook I complained about last week as reprocessed rather quickly.

Thanks. I've created a case for our book team to investigate.
