Copy Bible Verses BUG

I have been noticing a very sporadic bug.  The way Copy and Paste functions in the Copy Bible Verse (CBV) search field appears to be inconsistent quite a bit. When pasting a verse from the CBV search box, there are situations in which the selection must be validated by choosing from a drop-down menu (going back to the original, unconfirmed reference). In other situations, the change is effective immediately upon paste; and in yet other situations, it must be done by hitting return.

Here is a post I wrote on the same topic a couple of days ago...

    Hi Joey

I have trouble with some of Logos' conventions. Often it seems that there is an inconsistency in the way Copy and Paste takes effect in the Copy Bible Verse (CBV) search bar.

With a verse in the search bar of CBV a paste sometimes requires that the selection is confirmed by selecting from the drop down (reverting to the original reference not confirmed), other times it takes effect as soon as pasted, and sometimes the change needs to be 'actioned' by pressing return.

I agree with you that the code around this part of the programme appears a little flaky.

Isn't it amazing how we seem to think the same way?

We do already have a case open for this problem. I've added a link to this thread in the case notes so that we can post an update in the event that it is fixed.

Just to add my voice to this bug which I've run into several times. Steps to reproduce: 1) Ctrl-Alt-B to open "Copy Bible Verses". 2) Type a reference such as "1 cor 15 58" and a selection dropdown opens but does not contain the verse itself. 3) Press Enter and nothing happens and the dropdown stays open. I must select one of the dropdown items to make it go away, and then the entered verse is under the dropdown. I do not have the problem if the CBV window is already open. Thanks for adding it to the list to be fixed.

One function that might add efficiency for CBV is if a single reference is copied into the Windows clipboard, then when CBV receives the focus, that reference is selected and highlighted in the search bar. I realize this can be done with Copy Paste, but this would eliminate one step.
