Can someone please update the Wiki

The page on Bookmarks needs to be updated for Mac. Especially since control-shift for Windows turned out not to be command-shift for Mac, like it normally is, but command-option-shift.

Also the section on how to add/exclude a collection to/from a collection: it is totally different on Mac (unless the most recent update has changed something).

And there seems to be nothing whatsoever on unhiding books. If you're new to the program and read the page on 'Hiding Books' you get the impression that 'hiding' is in fact a euphemism for 'throwing away' (which I understand from a thread I happened to see, it is not).

(I intend to use this thread for further requests of the same kind, should need arise. Please feel free to do the same.)

The beauty of wikis is that anyone can contribute to them. Are you game to do those edits yourself? Just click on the Edit tab of any wiki page, make the changes, and click Save. You'll want to familiarize yourself with the basic wiki syntax first by reading http://wiki.logos.com/Basic_Wiki_Formatting, but you can usually figure it out from nearby text. Anyway if all you're doing is adding or editing some text, you probably won't have to mess with the formatting code. But it's good to know how to do bold, italics, headings, and links to other pages. It's all pretty straightforward.

Let us know if you really feel this is not what you want to be involved in. I've been too busy to keep up with wiki editing lately and would love it if one or two more eager souls would volunteer to help out for minor changes like this. Some people (Steve Clark in particular) do an amazing amount of work on the wiki.

I have no time to learn how to write in the Wiki anytime soon, and besides that, writing is for people who know the program. I haven't even figured out the basics yet. That's kind of why I need the Wiki...

Rosie's signature has "Learning Logos is an iterative process, and you've got to start somewhere." - also true for Wiki editing - still living and learning [:O]

Wiki has couple templates with example formatting => http://wiki.logos.com/wiki_Template1 and http://wiki.logos.com/wiki_Template2

    Hi fgh,

you might have missed this small section in the Library wiki page: Hiding books in your Library

Also don't forget to look in Logos4's help file (the info was found under Settings and typing hiding books in the box)

    Instructions to restore hidden resources

    image

    1. From the top menu, click on Tools and in the drop down menu click on Program Settings.
    2. Use the vertical scroll bar to move to Hidden Resources, then click on it. (you will need to have Use Internet enable in Program Settings ! )
    3. Locate the hidden resource that you want to restore and right click on it. In the drop down click on Unhide.
    4. Then close Logos4 and wait a few seconds.
    5. Now Open Logos4 and wait a few minutes (while Logos4 syncs). Some have noticed longer delays waiting for Logos4 to sync and discover your resource, others have had to repeat steps 4 & 5.

i will be glad to help when i can. But keep in mind some pages take a long time to build. For instance the Bible Word Study wiki page took me over a week.

In general this is not a good idea.

I have followed this thread and your final line (which I overlooked when reading it through first) has been highlighted.

I note that a comprehensive answer has been given to your particular question and might well assume that further posts will only contain the usual thanks and other pleasantries.

When using the forum there a couple of rules of thumb which assist those offering help and advice no end.

    1. One thread per problem. There is no charge for starting a new thread. The only exception is when you think that two symptoms are interrelated.
    2. Use a helpful title eg L4 SR1 Bug All my text displays in mirror image or WIKI Update needed 'How to fry eggs on red hot mac book.'

Agreed. Additional problems brought up in a revived old thread tend to get overlooked. Better to start a new thread.

And agreed again on the subject line. The more specific it can be the more likely it will be looked at by someone who can help with it, and/or won't be confused for some other very similar thread which someone already had read and is going to ignore from now on.
