Print to Adobe Acrobat problems

When I try to print from Logos 4.2 beta 2 to a PDF using Adobe Acrobat Distiller, the printing fails. Acrobat gives this error message:
%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
00ksogq not found, using Courier.
%%[ Error: invalidfont; OffendingCommand: show ]%%
Stack:
-file-
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
I can print the same article to Adobe Acrobat from Logos 3 without difficulty. It also works if I export the document to the clipboard and then print to Adobe Acrobat from Microsoft Word.

The error message seems to have something to do with fonts. Can you work around it if you chose a different font as your default resource font?
If that doesn't work, or if you'd prefer not to mess with your font just to be able to print, how about trying a different free virtual PDF printer besides Adobe Acrobat Distiller? (I use BullZip and it works great.)
Just trying to narrow it down to see if it's a Logos problem or a problem with Acrobat Distiller. You say it works fine on L3, but still it could be some problem in the way Logos 4 and Acrobat Distiller are communitcating with each other (L4 does its fonts way differently from the way L3 did them because it's built on top of WPF, Windows Presentation Foundation), and the problem could be in Logos, Windows, or Acrobat Distiller. It would probably be very hard to troubleshoot unless Logos could reproduce the problem in their offices, so probably the best solution is to work around it by using a different PDF Printer. They're free so it doesn't cost you anything but a couple of minutes of installation.

There are a couple of threads where other Distiller users have posted workarounds that worked on their systems:

Don't know if this will help, but I am using freeware PDF Creator - it works like a Windows printer, too.

I used to use this. But the size of the Acrobat PDF files is so much smaller that I bought the bullet and purchased adobe Acrobat. I would not want to go back now.

Has there been any progress on this bug? It seems a shame to have to find a work-around for an industry standard program like Acrobat.

Welcome to the forum Cassady. To the best of my knowledge, No, it has not been resolved.

I have recently discovered a solution to my problem. When trying to print a reading program to my Adobe Acrobat program, I clicked properties and unchecked the box "rely on system fonts only..." I was able to created the pdf with no error message (I also unchecked the Add Document Information box).
Thanks for the welcome!![:D]
