I just got the scholar's edition. I have not yet discovered how to do a filtered bible search (eg. how to find where two
specific words occur together in the same verse). Can anyone help me out?

Close the home page by clicking on the home; select the search icon, select bible, select your resource ie ESV, type in your two words connected with AND in caps. Example
