Greetings,

Perhaps this has already been suggested before: as it is, the Bible reading plan feature is good. It would be even more useful to have access to some special presets that one may want to read through such as various harmonies of the gospels, a chronological Bible, etc. The question is how easily the harmonies/parallel passages files could be converted into Bible reading plans? Some of the geeks in this forum may know how and be kind enough to tell us. Or some folks from Logos might just do it for us...

Blessings,

Francis

I've done a lot of work on this. I'll attach some files you can mess with. However, there is a builtin problem in the engine that divides things up into even days- it automatically forces any change from one book to another to start a new day's reading. So, if you try to consolidate the synoptic gospels or is you try to chronologically interweave 2Sam,Chron & Kings & prophets, it does not work well. You need to force the chron list to be in big chunks. Will post some lists for you to try, later.

Here is a list that is approximately chronological ... yes, I know, there are many opinions that may differ but my purpose here is not to start a debate ... rather, to illustrate how the existing Bible Reading Plan tool can be used.

This list covers the OT, excluding Psalms and Proverbs, which I like to mix in with the NT.  Just copy the list into te "Passage" box of Properties in your custom Plan, select the dates and days you want,  and (I suggest) use Pericope Boundaries for more "even" distribution across the calendar.  Note - as I said before, Libronix does not allow you to include more than one book of the Bible in a given "day" ... this is the main limitation.

Genesis 1:1 - Genesis 50:26; Job 1:1 - Job 42:17; Exodus 1:1 - 1 Samuel 31:13; 1 Chronicles 10:1 - 1 Chronicles 12:40; 2 Samuel 1:1 - 2 Samuel 6:23; 1 Chronicles 13:1 - 1 Chronicles 20:8; 2 Samuel 7:1 - 2 Samuel 24:25; 1 Chronicles 21:1 - 1 Chronicles 29:30; 1 Kings 1:1 - 1 Kings 3:28; 2 Chronicles 1:1 - 2 Chronicles 7:22; 1 Kings 5:1 - 1 Kings 10:29; 2 Chronicles 8:1 - 2 Chronicles 9:31; 1 Kings 4:1 - 1 Kings 4:34; Song of Solomon 1:1 - Song of Solomon 8:14; 1 Kings 11:1 - 1 Kings 12:33; Ecclesiastes 1:1 - Ecclesiastes 12:14; 2 Chronicles 10:1 - 2 Chronicles 17:19; 1 Kings 13:1 - 1 Kings 22:53; 2 Chronicles 18:1 - 2 Chronicles 23:21; 2 Kings 1:1 - 2 Kings 11:21; Joel 1:1 - Joel 3:21; 2 Kings 12:1 - 2 Kings 14:29; 2 Chronicles 24:1 - 2 Chronicles 25:28; Jonah 1:1 - Jonah 4:11; Hosea 1:1 - Hosea 14:9; 2 Kings 15:1 - 2 Kings 15:38; 2 Chronicles 26:1 - 2 Chronicles 26:23; Amos 1:1 - Amos 9:15; Isaiah 1:1 - Isaiah 4:6; 2 Chronicles 27:1 - 2 Chronicles 27:9; Isaiah 5:1 - Isaiah 6:13; Micah 1:1 - Micah 7:20; 2 Kings 16:1 - 2 Kings 16:20; 2 Chronicles 28:1 - 2 Chronicles 28:27; Isaiah 7:1 - Isaiah 35:10; 2 Kings 17:1 - 2 Kings 18:37; 2 Chronicles 29:1 - 2 Chronicles 32:33; Isaiah 36:1 - Isaiah 37:38; 2 Kings 19:1 - 2 Kings 21:26; Isaiah 38:1 - Isaiah 39:8; 2 Chronicles 33:1 - 2 Chronicles 33:25; Isaiah 40:1 - Isaiah 66:24; Zephaniah 1:1 - Zephaniah 3:20; Jeremiah 1:1 - Jeremiah 20:18; 2 Kings 22:1 - 2 Kings 23:37; 2 Chronicles 34:1 - 2 Chronicles 36:23; Nahum 1:1 - Nahum 3:19; Jeremiah 22:1 - Jeremiah 22:30; Jeremiah 26:1 - Jeremiah 26:24; Habakkuk 1:1 - Habakkuk 3:19; Jeremiah 46:1 - Jeremiah 47:7; Jeremiah 25:1 - Jeremiah 25:38; Jeremiah 35:1 - Jeremiah 36:32; Jeremiah 45:1 - Jeremiah 45:5; Jeremiah 48:1 - Jeremiah 49:39; Daniel 1:1 - Daniel 2:49; 2 Kings 24:1 - 2 Kings 24:20; Jeremiah 24:1 - Jeremiah 24:10; Jeremiah 27:1 - Jeremiah 29:32; Jeremiah 23:1 - Jeremiah 23:40; Jeremiah 50:1 - Jeremiah 51:64; Jeremiah 34:1 - Jeremiah 34:22; Ezekiel 1:1 - Ezekiel 24:27; Jeremiah 21:1 - Jeremiah 21:14; Jeremiah 30:1 - Jeremiah 33:26; Ezekiel 25:1 - Ezekiel 25:17; Ezekiel 29:1 - Ezekiel 31:18; Ezekiel 26:1 - Ezekiel 28:26; Jeremiah 37:1 - Jeremiah 39:18; Jeremiah 52:1 - Jeremiah 52:34; 2 Kings 25:1 - 2 Kings 25:30; Lamentations 1:1 - Lamentations 5:22; Obadiah 1 - Obadiah 21; Jeremiah 40:1 - Jeremiah 44:30; Ezekiel 32:1 - Ezekiel 39:29; Daniel 3:1 - Daniel 3:30; Ezekiel 40:1 - Ezekiel 48:35; Ezekiel 29:1 - Ezekiel 29:21; Daniel 7:1 - Daniel 9:27; Daniel 4:1 - Daniel 6:28; Ezra 1:1 - Ezra 3:13; Daniel 10:1 - Daniel 12:13; Ezra 4:1 - Ezra 6:22; Haggai 1:1 - Haggai 2:23; Zechariah 1:1 - Zechariah 14:21; Esther 1:1 - Esther 10:3; Ezra 7:1 - Ezra 10:44; Nehemiah 1:1 - Nehemiah 13:31; Malachi 1:1 - Malachi 4:6; 1 Chronicles 1:1 - 1 Chronicles 9:44

Suggestions along this line have been made and a person or two has actually created Bible reading plans. But the process is rather clumsy and requires modification each time it is used. So no, I won't volunteer for the task. But I'd certainly support the reworking of the process by Logos.
