BUG: Nonresponsive moving notes

Dear Logos,

I try to be patient - honest. I have found that at a certain size, adding more short notes to a file becomes a waiting game. Too much waiting for my patience. So I find a work around - I create a note work file that I keep very short. I then move the notes from the short, temporary file to the note file they belong it. This worked for a while. However, today moving of notes into the real file would work for a few notes. Then it would become completely unresponsive ... although my little sync arrow was going round and round and round and round and round and ... I had a total of 12 notes to move. I don't have logs from the first session of moving these 12 notes. However, the logs for the next three sessions until I finally got all 12 notes moved are attached. What is not shown is my patience guage which is now running on empty (or perhaps fumes)

Are you placing the notes towards the top of the file (that they belong in), so that there are dozens (or hundreds?) of notes following the note you dragged in?

If so, you're running into a shortcoming in the design of the current system: when you add notes at the top of the file, the remaining notes have to be reordered internally (e.g., note #3 becomes note #4, note #4 becomes note #5, and so on...). This may end up modifying hundreds of notes, all of which now need to be synced.

This is a known issue that we're currently working on; a lot of back-end work is happening to support a new notes format that fixes this problem. I don't yet have an estimated date when we'll be switching over to the new format.

Thanks Bradley - I'll try putting them all at the end since the sort is still fast.
