Do Personal Books Sync?

I am new to the Personal Book Builder but already loving it!!!

I just created my first book yesterday on my Windows Version of Logos 4 in Fusion. A day later, I noticed that my Mac Logos 4 and my iPhone and iPad Logos apps did not have access to my new book. Will that book automatically sync with my other instances of Logos, or is there something I need to do?

Logos is working on this feature, but it is not ready. Currently, Personal Books are NOT available on mobile devices. To get the book onto your Mac, you will need to re-compile it on the Mac. Once that is done, the other features (i.e. highlights) will sync.

No… at least not publicly. We know that Logos intends to allow this, but this is a MAJOR undertaking. Imagine the storage capacity that Logos will have to take on to hold all of our personal books! With our Logos & Vyrso books, Logos just has to keep a single copy (I'm sure there are backups [:)]) for everyone who has the license for that book. With personal books, Logos will have to keep each book for each user! Imagine 40,000 different copies of the same book!

One thing is probably for certain… you will not see personal books on mobile devices until they are syncing with your desktop computers.

Unfortunately, not yet. I would not expect it anytime soon. It is certainly a major undertaking and an expensive one.

This is a feature I would gladly pay $2-5/monthly as a subscription, comparable to subscriptions for using Google Cloud. Which is ultimately the hold up--structure and development capability of the software, or physical disk space/financial resources? I'm sure if Logos opened a dialogue with its users, progress on many issues could quickly, coorperatively be realized.

Please be aware that with Logos 6 it is now possible to sync personal books between computers

It is not currently possible to sync personal books with mobile devices

Thank you for this notice, Graham. I just recently downloaded all of John Piper's free books from his website onto PBB. However, my work computer where I did these downloads is not syncing with my home desktop and laptop that have Logos Bible Software downloaded and not just the app.

I called Logos 3 times and they said that it is not possible at this time. Since you've had success with this feature could you let me know what might be the problem? Thanks!

Justin, I believe you have to manually select each book and push the button that shows up that says, "Upload" in order for this resource to synchronize between computers. Also, I believe there is a 25MB file size limit per book for uploading (and syncing) personal books.

Actually they did mention that a study of the PB's showed that little of the material was new i.e. materials to which the users owned the copyrights. We've already seen in the music industry the dangers in enabling the sharing of copyright material without legal authority.

Hmm. Did the study take into account those of us that use a different Bible app to create personal books? I have only created one book with Logos as it’s not available on my iDevices.
