I don't know much about this series.

The only one I've used is Jimmy Dunn's on Galatians, when I did some serious study on that book this year. It was actually one of the best commentaries on Galatians for what I was doing (even though I don't follow the NPP approach on everything).

Like others, I imagine different volumes are of varying quality, so perhaps others will post other experiences. But you can buy some of these as individual volumes, so perhaps you could buy one, try it out, and then talk to Sales about upgrading to the set if you like it.

If you want to see an excerpt, I have Philippians, 1 & 2 Corinthians.

It is on my long term wish list.  It is a quality set.  However, there are other resources a little higher on my list before I buy this set.

I had a few of the volumes in hard cover so bought the set when it was on pre-pub. Hooker on Mark, Barrett on 1 & 2 Corinthians, Bockmuehl on Philippians, Best on 1 & 2 Thessalonians, Laws on James, and Kelley on both Pater and Jude and the Pastorals are all worth adding to your library.

Thanks for the offer...but I do own one or two in book format...just need to dig them out...got them cheap second hand, never used them though.

I have Morna Hooker on Mark's Gospel. It's a good solid piece of scholarship.

I don't know much about this series.

It's become one of my "go-to" resources whenever I'm preaching from the NT. So far, I've REALLY appreciated each volume I've had the opportunity to get into. I'm especially enjoying using Matthew in an extended sermon series. I almost always get a unique insight from Baker.

I do have to say I haven't felt the same about their Exegetical Commentaries, however.

Many blessings on your decision...

Grace & Peace,
Bill

I wasn't aware of  a Matthean volume?

Are Black's commentaries by Baker?

Are you thinking of Baker New Testament Commentaries?

Anyhow, I have really enjoyed 2 of the Baker Exegetical commentaries...the ones by Moises Silva and Karen Jobes.  The rest I haven't ventured into yet.
