When I try to start Logos 4,the splash screen comes up for a few minutes, then disappears, and nothing else happens.

I am running Logos on a Windows 7 machine for the last six months

System Specs
Toshiba Notebook | Windows Experience Index: 5.7| Intel Core i7 CPU Q 740 @1.73 GHZ | 4GB RAM |  Nvidia GT 330M. | Windows 7 Professional 64bit - all patches.

I have tried the following:

1.       I have gone into task manager and made sure that Logos closed down properly the last time I used it. There are no logos processes present.

2.       I have tried starting Logos while holding down the CTRL key. This makes no difference, and no error logging files are created in my documents

Can you assist please

Anyone have any ideas ?

Repair the installation by going to Control Panel | Programs and Features, select  Logos 4 and click on Repair at the top. Restart the computer and then try L4.

If the problem continues report what the Window's error log is showing after an attempt to start --> http://wiki.logos.com/Windows_Troubleshooting#Windows_Vista_or_Windows_7

Noticed older stable version  4.22.5.1109 (Logos 4.2b SR-1), wonder about manually upgrading application to current stable Logos 4.3 SR-3 (4.30.0.1592) that includes Personal Book Tool ?

I have had a similar problem. When i click the icon in my task bar, it says to me i need to update to the latest version, then i click to go the website to down load the latest version, and it says i am up to date. An endless cycle! What should I do?

  1. right click and unpin the taskbar icon
  2. go to Control Panel | Programs and Features, right click Logos Bible Software 4 and choose Repair.
  3. if necessary, create a new shortcut from \Logos4\Logos4.exe  (or launch it from there and then pin to taskbar).
