Many people have been asking, “What is Vyrso”? One user thought that a thread should be created that explained Vyrso in greater detail, so I thought I would oblige. First, I want to point out that “Vyrso” is used to refer to both 1) an app (the Vyrso app for iOS & Android) and 2) “trade book” resources.
The Vyrso App is a scaled back version of the Logos App. There are small differences, but it remains to be seen if it will eventually distinguish itself as the better reader. Both the Vyrso and Logos apps can view the same resources. In other words, your library on both apps will be identical.
Most books that are currently in Logos are academic in nature (Logos is a study tool after all). If you go to your local “Christian” Book Store, however, these books would more than likely fill a small section. Vyrso books would be the rest of the books (called “trade” books). This includes everything from “Christian Living” to “Amish Romance Novels.”
Vyrso books are not tagged like “Logos” resources, except for scripture references which are hyperlinked. In most cases this is ok because the books aren’t for research. These are essentially “right from the publisher.” One advantage of this is that these books will be ready much sooner than the typical Logos resource.
In my opinion, a key feature of Vryso is that these resources integrate with your Logos library. Personally, I don’t have anything against “Amish Romance Novels,” but I am not likely to purchase or read them. There are other books, however, which I would want in my library. Some of these include:
