Andrews University Study Bible
When did this slip in? Only saw the email today. I have the study Bible as my preaching Bible. Now I will have the notes. All I need now is a Tablet computer, so that I have sermon and Bible all in one place.

I just saw it today. I have never heard of it before. What is it like compared to the ESV and NLT Study Bibles?

Meanwhile, Jesus kept on growing wiser and more mature, and in favor with God and his fellow man.

Similar. Look at the sample pages and see if it meets your needs. I ordered the notes only, as I already have the NKJV.

I saw it and pre-ordered on Aug. 29th. The release dates have slipped twice but it has held steady this time.

Andrews University Press is Seventh-Day Adventist Publisher so I assume this Study Bible will be of this theological orientation.

Bohuslav you are correct. Designed for the lay person. Has studies (text and writings) about Adventist beliefs.

Lynden, I too hope it soon gets into production. [:D]
It will be good to know the biblical foundation for "some" of the Adventist beliefs.
Because I want to go to the source instead of "rummers", I also want to see the Biblia de Jerusalem make it into production.
I also would like to see the Spanish Jerusalem Bible: http://www.logos.com/es/producto/13203/biblia-de-jerusalen-latinoamericana
Hope they are both on my logos bookshelf soon!

In the mean time you may want to go here. http://biblicalresearch.gc.adventist.org/documents.htm or http://www.adventist.org.
I have started formatting documents from the first link for PBB. Waiting on approval to add links to Adventist Bible commentary and Ellen White writings.

Somehow I missed the announcement for this resource. [:(] What was the pre-pub price for the notes? Guess I'll need to wait for a sale to get close to the pre-pub price.

I don't remember what the prepub price was, but I would recommend calling customer sales. Many times they can give you a lower price than what is on the website.

Yep it went out of pri pub, but you can still just BUY the notes if you already have the NKJV.[:D]

People always say that, but for my own personal experiences, it has NEVER happened.
It seems that some are elected for discounts and others are not elected. [:'(]

Same here. It seems the sales people sometimes know of sales that are not widely announced and can offer these products on discount (which may coincide with someone asking for this resource), but I think I never got a discount "just for asking" - what I asked about always turned out not to be on sale. But I often decide to buy it nevertherless...
Have joy in the Lord!

I have made several purchases in the last few months, and not directly from Logos for the above mentioned reason.
For example:
Luthers Works (Found it a lot cheaper by searching for old links to discounted libronix products on the web). [B]
Warfield collection (Found a discounted prices on a Warfield Blog site).[8-|]
Wayne Gruden - (I did a little rejoicing over this one)[<:o)]
I pays to search the web ( logos libronix sale discount code)! [Y]

Just out of curiosity. Was the "notes only" version offered during the pre-pub? The reason I ask is because I ordered this as soon as I seen it listed on pre-pub and paid $34.95 for it. The "Notes Only" version would have been cheaper since I already have the NKJV. If I simply missed it I'll just have to take the hit for the few extra dollars and learn to slow down on the ordering process. [:$]

FYI, you have to link the notes with your favorite version of the bible. That was not clear from the website.

I have an issue with this implementation of the Andrews Bible. I was under the impression that the LOGOS implementation was going to be somewhat similar to the print edition. IT IS NOT. It seems to be just the notes only edition. In my opinion this is false advertising. The notes seem to be very good. but the electronic version is a poor implementation and is not like have a bible with the notes embedded in the text.
But this is how many Study Bibles are shipped. The Andrews Bible is shipped with and without the NKJV - with a $10 difference in price. The study notes can then be linked to your version of choice - probably the NKJV, but others may prefer the ESV or the NRSV, etc. Check out these two products:
http://www.logos.com/buy/9500 << Adds the notes and the NKJV to your order ($39.95)
http://www.logos.com/buy/15006 << Adds the notes only to your order ($29.95)

Most (actually all) Bible software companies that I am familiar with do it this way.

Just possible that this was not on pre-pub. This has occurred at occasionally in the past - you, if I remember correctly, were one of the first purchasers of this product and it was not on pre-pub at that point.

Thank you Floyd.I was just curious if maybe I was not paying attention to the details. I still think that it was a good investment though for those of us who sometimes use study Bibles, instead of the more detailed commentaries, Seventh Day Adventist or not. I have already been using it. Blessings.

You say you are already using it - any comments on what it adds to the mix of Study Bibles already available? What is making it useful to you? Thanks for any advice you can give.

Sure, please keep in mind though that most of the study Bibles that I use are in a different program (including the ESV). I'm slowly converting to Logos as I can afford it, so some of the things that I see as being very good might be the norm for Logos.Floyd Johnson said:any comments on what it adds to the mix of Study Bibles already available?
There are three things that stick out for me.
#1: My favorite is the Topical Reading. Basically you have a symbol that indicates a topic and a list that gives other scriptures on that topic. Some would maybe compare this to Thompson's Chain Bible but I like how the symbol makes it stand out and the list of topics is easily found with each verse associated with it. Forgive me if I am sounding clumsy, hopefully the pictures will illustrate what I am trying to say.
#2: There are a lot of maps that are easily accessible from the table of contents and the bigger your window is, the bigger the map is without squinting [:)]
#3: Finally, like the maps, the charts are easily found from the TOC like the maps are. This keeps you from having to guess and try to navigate to the book, chapter and verse that you think that it might be at or if (like me) you would have no clue where to find it at!
Here is an example of the table of contents. Each book's layout is the same, similar to other study Bibles with author, date etc.
Hope this helps. If I was not clear about something please let me know and I'll try to explain myself further/better.

I just wanted to ask again, I think that my first time asking has gotten buried. Thanks.
Yes the notes were on prepub. I ordered it for 24.95. Still waiting for the download. With the larger text, I can really get the most out of it. I have the print version as my preaching Bible.

Thanks Lynden, when I first ordered the pre-pub I did not see the notes only option but I'll be more careful to check back regularly when I order a pre-pub in the future.

You might contact Customer Service tomorrow to see if you can still get the notes version for the pre-pub price. You have a few days to return an item - and if you already own the NKJV, they may be willing to refund your overpayment OR give you credit that you can use on another product.
I don't speak for LOGOS, but I know the answer if you don't ask.
