I just noticed that it's available for pre-order as a Kindle book. And Vyrso has several titles by J.I. Packer. Could that mean that this great classic might soon be available through Logos again? I sure hope so! That would be awesome.
Please, Yes PLEASE !

"Knowing God" was the book that made theology personal to me. I have used that book to teach Bible study groups over the years. I have worn out several copies with underlining and highlighting.
I hope it is not a difficult thing to negotiate with publishers and copyright holders. We know it was once available in Logos (version 2 , I think.) I am sure Dr. Packer would love for everyone to know God better. [:D] I nominate you, Rosie, to attempt to meet Dr. Packer over afternoon tea and plead for a comprehensive collection of his works in Logos. Even if he says "no" you will have made the rest of us jealous of the meeting. [C]

It was version 2. Since I had that in my version 2.1 library I have the good fortune of still using it in Logos 4. You truly do get to use the things you bought long ago with Logos!

I could try that but he doesn't use email, so it might take a while for me to figure out the old fashioned ways of signing up for an appointment with a professor. [:)] I bet you're all jealous even thinking about the fact that this is even within the realm of possibility for me. He's had some health issues lately (hip replacement) but is still teaching this fall at age 85. Quite a guy!
And even if I could find a time to meet with him I'm not sure this man who is so untechnological would have any interest in giving permission for his works to be available on a computer software program. He probably couldn't fathom the benefit of that! He famously typed all his books and correspondence on a manual typewriter for years. I think he has a student/TA do his typing for him now.
