BUG: Strange results in German Bible Search

I don't know why I haven't noticed this before, but it seems that there is something wrong with some of the German translations that are included in the SESB 3 (LU 84, EÜ 2, REB, GNB, ZB 2007).
A search for e.g. "Abel" in "Search All Bible Text" in "All Passages" shows double entries for every single result:
It should look like this (same search with ESV), of course:
Please notice that the total result number in the LU 84 (and EÜ 2, REB, GNB, ZB 2007) search is wrong, too - it says 44 when it should be 24, indeed.
Any idea what the problem might be?

How odd. It seems that it only happens with names. Perhaps the search is picking up some additional tagging, and returning the tag in addition to the search results.

I hadn't noticed before that this happens with names only - but I think you're right!
Seems like you're somehow right with the tagging as well: Changing "All Bible Text" to "Surface Text" brings up 21 results, "Stem Form" brings up 23 results - those results are simply added where they shouldn't be.

Checked it again - it doesn't happen with names only, it actually seems to be the case with every search term (try e.g. "Feuer" or "Wort").

But not with rief, eine, kluge, her, komm, or sprecht!

So the problem occurs with uninflected words. Hopefully, Logos and the German Bible Society can fix this - otherwise these searches are not reliable at all. Until then I will have to remember to choose "Stem Form" for the mentioned resources.

A similar problem (has been reported but still) occurs with the NASB95 bible when searching on Strong's numbers e.g. <h1893> . The duplicated results are visible in Aligned view but not in Verses view.

That's true, but the hit counter is still off in Verses view (44 results in 20 verses for Abel in both views, while searching for Stem Form gives correct 23)

I should have added that "Surface Text" brings up the correct count in the NASB95, which gives a clue as to the nature of the problem.

In the German bibles, "surface text" only gives me the words as written in the search string - thus "Abels", the German genitive, is not found in surface text despite the "match all forms" setting, but in Stem Form, which for me makes the surface text count incorrect.

You're right, Mick - at the moment, choosing "Stem Form" is the only workaround for getting correct results in German translations.

I get more results, exactly 2x more :-)
This is an issue of how results should be counted for this type of search. Because you are searching for two terms, the lemma and a morphological code, the thought is that search should count 2 results. You and I can only see the lemma result so we naturally count 1 as we reason that it is a lemma with a specific morphological code. To make matters worse the same search will return 89 in another Greek bible or a reverse interlinear.
Logos have been aware of the problem for 2 years!

Dave, thank for this info. I found some threads elsewhere on this forum.
Its a pity that this is not corrected in 2 years.

Bump. Bug still exists. I think this is really a critical issue - searches are one of the software's core functions and should be reliable. Please, Logos, do something about this - the problem is known for almost a year now!!!

Couldn't agree more.

I've reported search bugs two years ago that still aren't fixed. Some of them may not even have cases filed yet.

Bump.
Bug still exists. This has been reported nearly three years ago now - nothing has happened yet, and that really makes me kinda angry. Customers payed for these resources. So did I. Logos, if you want me to buy further resources, you have to do better than that. Please tell us if this issue is still being looked into and when there will be a solution. Thank you.

The bug that HansK reported (double counting when specifying morphology) has been fixed in Logos 5.1a beta 3.
The bug you mentioned also seems to be fixed. At least, when I tested it with the Gute Nachricht Bibel, it worked OK.

Thank you Logos for fixing these bugs!
Thank you Mark for bringing this to our attention.
Mark, BTW, when can we expect an update of your (excellent) videos?

I just noticed this! Thank you for pointing this out, Mark - and thank you, Logos, for finally fixing this big issue!
